SBE updates

Still trying to figure out where this sexpo thing is......

You know, the super billiard sexpo

Dang interweb won't tell me

Nearly 700 players in the Wednesday night warmup and close to 1000 in the Amateur Open...pool is far from dead folks.

Not seeing too many big money matches or pit escapades. The usual suspects are all here...barking wooing and trying to play the lemon when they can. Mostly everybody knows who's who and nobody has shoved it in yet.

Kenny Brisbon, the consummate gentleman, played race to 11 with a 70 something year old from team Puerto Rico , race to 11 in 9 ball. Kenny takes the first set 11 to 7. Second set Puerto Rico comes back 9 to 2. They stopped Kenny from racking his own. Might have made the difference , but poppa never missed a ball. Ended 11 to 5 and no decider was played.

Saw Spanky roll a cueball 100 yards through a man's legs for 1000 on the 2nd try...there were 300 people who formed a hallway for him to shoot down.

The expo is just great. A real brotherhood of sorts is felt. Action tables all 18 are side by side and close enough so you can see what's going down. There are 2 9 footers available, haven't noticed big action there...yet.

Anyone know exactly what Rodney is referring to exactly. They are using diamond tables and cyclops balls.

Rodney has never been a fan of Diamond Tables for his own reasons. Maybe it is the pocket configuration? He likes the Gold Crowns.

As far as the balls go, he favors a heavier cue ball with his stroke ability. He was complaining about the cue ball at one of the Mezz West stops last year; believe it was in San Francisco.

That makes sense. Darren and Mika were also going off about the added money and table conditions.

Mika posted about it being a silly event because they have morning matches on the winners side and called it "pro" ten ball.

Darren missed his second match in the 10 ball and so he forfeited his loser side match and is out.

Wonder if these tables have new cloth?

Maybe the balls are skidding? Although, that would make the corners easier to play.

Old Cloth? That would make the corner pockets play more difficult.

Questions that need an answer.

I figured the 9 footers would have new cloth and the 7 footers wouldn't for the TAP amateurs. Maybe part of the problem was the balls aren't what were advertised

These are probably the same tables that were used at Turning Stone and DCC.

That is why I question if they have received new cloth.

I was speaking to Lee Brett last night and he told me the pro tables had a very odd cue all. It wasn't anything the've used before. It wasn't arimath or cyclones. He said it was doing strange things with any sort of english.

Pros ***** every year (rightfully so) but come back year after year to the same and some different problems with this tournament. But Allen is happy, singing all the way to the bank. Johnnyt
