FYI, I just posted an Exam I score or 76 to give you guys something to beat. I hadn't taken Exam I in a long time and I did this run-through with no practice; although, all of my practice in the past probably helped a great deal. We've have some entries now on the $2500 BU Playing-Ability-Exam Challenge page. I wasn't happy with my 76 on Exam I, so I tried again this weekend and got an 86. Now you guys have an even higher target to shoot for to get the cash. I look forward to seeing your Doctorate Exam II score to see how it compares to your Masters Exam II score. We have not seen many comparisons like this. I hope your Doctorate score ends up being higher. That was our goal when creating the Exam II versions.Very nice!
I've been working and haven't taken the doctorate exam yet. After I find some time to run through it and get a score on the board for that exam
I think 86 is close to my limit. The best I've ever done, before the Challenge, is 88.I'm going to start working on improving my scores to see how well I can do with some focused practice. 86 is going to be tough to beat!![]()
I'm sure you can beat the 86. I actually hope you do. Then I'll have a reason to try hard again. :thumbup:I made today 3 first runs for Exam I. First I had cancel because drunken people came disturb me too much and I almost lost my temper. 2nd I made 86... but my phone memory came full and video ended up to wagonwheel ....
I cleared some space and tried one more time and made 82(dogged wagonwheel). I was gonna post :sorry: it but Dave made 86 so I have to try tomorrow again.. .grr. If I can´t beat it tomorrow maybe then I will post it :frown:
I feel the same frustrations. My cloth is a little sticky and slow, making draw more difficult (although, my table is only an 8 footer). I actually consider draw my best shot; but doing so reliably with control is more difficult than we might think (especially on a slow and stick cloth). My table cloth is so worn out Draw drill is so F***king hard. I hate it. I can draw still one and half table but making long draw with precision backspin is so difficult..
Even if you don't achieve winning scores for the $2500 BU Playing-Ability-Exam Challenge, please post your scores anyway (and videos, if available) on the AZB BU Sticky Thread so I can add you to the list.I made today 3 first runs for Exam I. I find that the Exams help me with focus too. They also quickly unearth bad habits that tend to sneak back into my game periodically and force me to re-strengthen my fundamentals. I always feel like I play sharper after I've worked on the Exams some.Gothca! Gotta get back to BU tests after that. I noticed great improvements to my focus due doing those tests. Also I haven't been able to care train my stroke for years due lack of motivation. These tests are demanding and had to go back on basics... And that is good.
I worked on Exam II today. The best I could get was a 73. Here's the video:The Billiard University (BU) is offering $2500 to players who participate in and do well on the BU Playing-Ability Exams. FYI, Side Pocket just posted an Exam I score of 90 ... and on a 10' table!!! Wow. That's going to be tough to beat, even on an 8' table. I'm glad to see it also. It makes me think that even a perfect score (100) is possible, maybe even from Side Pocket (especially on a smaller table).Very good shooting!
Well, Dr. Dave, we had a good 2 1/2 year run at the top, I'm surprised it took this long for someone to beat our score. Glad to see it finally happen!

He is now in first place in both the Exam I and Exam II categories. He also took over the top spot on the AZB BU thread. Great job!
