Is there any way to assure that these are authentic, Moori tips?

The integrity of the source (me), what has been disclosed here and your eyeballs. These tips are as genuine and fresh as can be. I mainly got them to supply the cuemakers in my network. I have about 4-5 boxes to sell, keeping the rest for my own cues. These tips were in Mr. Moori's shop until about 2 days before SBE.

Should I send you a copy of the cease and desist order I received from a certain "Moori distributor"?

It is fresh and unopened too.....

I was going to drop by last Thursday to get some leather on the way home from Ariel's and Eddie's, but I found out you have a real job to support the pool related one...

Have you tried any of the Moori mediums to see if they have the delaminating problem like the other Moori tips had from another seller?

Let me guess, it's from the same guy that has recently sent me rude and vulgar, threatening emails saying he'll sue the ass off of me if I say another word about?? The same guy that is no longer banned from here, has a criminal record longer than my arm under his real name.....Hmmm wonder whom that would be.....:D:D

I have not installed these but they are as genuine as the nose on your face. If anyone is skeptical in the least I'd suggest not buying them. I only have about 5 boxes of tips to sell. The people who have purchased already are not complaining at all. I only got involved because I knew the tips I was buying came from Moori from only Moori authorized distributor for USA.

He is unbanned now? Because he is such a worthy contributor?

The guy, and his grasp of the law, is a total joke. There are tear stains of laughter from his lawyer all over this letter... I'm guessing it was a template and all he had to do was hit a button, put it in an envelope, and send out a bill. "He" must be doing well. I wish I could throw money at lawyers for "feel good" reasons.....LMFAO.

Why is Thomas Wayne still banned?

Sorry, I missed you Randy. Yes, I have to earn my daily bread at my day job. You must be really important to receive a legal document! Lol.
Although I can't say I know this to be a fact I have learned that Mr. Moori contracted out his tip manufacturing to China while he was ill. I believe counterfeit or Chinese made Moori tips have dominated the marketplace until recently.

The Genuine Moori IV Medium is on the right. Notice the finer perforation in the foil packaging. The tip on the left is a counterfeit that was sold to me (I bought a box) at SBE 3 years ago from a previously trusted Japanese seller. I do not believe he knew the tips were fake at the time.

Moori could end this overnight if they simply listed who the authorized distributors were, and if THEY simply listed who the legitimate resellers were. This isn't an uncommon problem. There are some popular soldering irons that are counterfeited, Mitutoyo gear gets counterfeited, things like scopes and power supplies get counterfeited, whole guitars get counterfeited, etc etc. Since we all know who the legitimate dealers are, we go to them and don't get counterfeits. It's really pretty simple.

The only reason I won't continue to be a reseller of Moori tips is I was told I could not be listed on Mr. Moori's Japanese website as a reseller but could be listed on the future website of the authorized distributor. That didn't sound good to me.

Dave, I didn't know your ARMS are that long. :D
You gotta love that monthly SPAM he sends out.
Everything is on sale. Every tip he hocks is better than Moori and Kamui.
The FakeOrgasmi tips are on sale every freaking month.

GLWS here Martin.

It's a shame it all can't be worked out. Sometimes there's either just stubbornness involved, or something going on behind the scenes where they somehow benefit (or think they benefit) from the counterfeits.

I'll a good photo of one of my tips out of the bubble wrap when I have time.

That would make perfect sense.. Who's to say what QC was or if the guys he contracted sold the fraud protection stuff...ect....ect....ect....

All I know is what I found with the tips I got from Joe Barringer....

It's probably a good thing you weren't around. I couldn't afford to look at any Davis blanks....

`So am I missing something or did Mr. Moori actually sell Chinese bootlegs while he was ill? Do I have that wrong? I hope I do! That would explain a lot.
Did integrity really go out the window?

No matter. I'm already gone.

The way I heard it, a Chinese tip manufacturer was under contract with Mr. Moori to make the tips while he was ill. I bought a box of fakes (9 layer) 3 years ago from a Japanese seller that had previously sold me genuine tips at SBE. The box even came with a hologram reader! I think the Moori tips sold in the package with the relatively larger perforations are likely Chinese made and/ or fakes.

Martin-
Thanks for the interesting insight.
So, someone correct me if I am misunderstanding something, but it sounds like Mr. Moori was ill and could not supply his own handmade tips, so he had them made in China like others, "bootleggers", had been doing periodically.

This is the most plausible explanation for the obviously different (and lower quality) tips that appeared in what seemed to be genuine packaging from what had once been reliable suppliers of the real deal.
He knowingly substituted Chinese-made "bootlegs" for his own handmade tips to fill the gap while he was ill so as not to suffer financial consequences due to his illness? I really hope that is not so but it sure sounds that way to me.
What a guy.

It makes sense. If I am wrong, someone enlighten me.

Incidentally, I have tried the newly released varieties (not the green one though) and they cut and played very well...what I would expect from a genuine Moori tip.

But meanwhile time has marched on and I now play with ZAN tips and install them on all cues I make. They are excellent tips.
