Not only that...Who's supposed to collect and manage the money? It will certainly NOT be the players themselves.

I really have not put much thought into it but off the top of my head : the team captains could collect like normal and APA could cut a check once a month or something. If it could be the start of " something " good @ 50 cents per player then probably wouldn't be a horrible thing. If everyone was on the same page and had worked the details out maybe it COULD actually be the start of some kinda farm league or whatever. Please don't mistake my stance on this, if you have not and need to please read my earlier posts on this subject.

The team Captian collects the money any player that owes money has a astrick beside thier name ,,the team capt would have had to have his head in the sand or deaf dumb blind and stupid to not have known what was going on

The APA is in no way associated with Pro pool that I know of. The ARE a for profit organization. I don't see why they would feel obligated to give the pro players money.

If pros want to earn more money, get organized, and promoted similar to what happened years ago with snooker overseas. Snooker players DO make good money, but it has taken a lot of hard work, and lot and lots of promotion.

I have found that most of the folks that are just given stuff, and don't have to work for it, well, the appreciation wears off rapidly, and soon, they want something else for nothing.

Here's an idea....why don't you start your own league that makes millions of dollars and give those up to the professionals and see how it goes?

Case closed! ^^^
We will never know the true insight and reality of others until we all walk in their shoes...

A tour was supposed to be the goal when Terry Bell and Larry Hubbart started the Busch League way back when. Then they saw the golden goose.

Funny how the original mission was a Pro Tour!!!

Then that went the way of the Dinosaur once the money started flowing! Sadly, these were pro level pool players "HURTING" pro level pool players and the sport that put food on the table and money in their pockets!

Go Figure!!!:(:sorry::confused:

Everyone here is focused on someone telling someone else what to do with their $.

How about love for the game, caring about its survival? I've never been in a league in my life but I'd contribute $10 a week if I thought it could bring about a pro tour.

It's not about "doing something for the pros". For me it's about doing something for the game.

Here is am idea.

Form your own corporation to start a pro tour.

You can be the president and start a go fund me account

Dat quarta can be the CFO since he is brilliant with figures

Dynomite cam be the treasurer

Be interesting to see how many on this forum send you 10.00 a week every week.

I think there are enough members on here at 10.00 a week to support such a tour.

Dont know for sure...dat quata would have to use his great analalitical mind to come up with the figures.

I think you are vastly overestimating the type of people in (APA) leagues. Many are there to get out once a week & have fun & get some competitive juices flowing (not judging, everyone should enjoy pool how they like). Many simply don't care about the game itself. And why should they? It's just a night away. Not a passion like so many of us here.

You/many here are blinded by your passion that you forget what it's like to not love the game. They go play cause it's an escape. Do you have another hobby where it's just that, something to kill some time with that you don't really care about the goodness of it. I, personally, have wakeboarding & wakesurfing as my example. I enjoy doing it but it's not a passion & don't really care about the pro's and there's zero chance I'd support it/them financially.

It seems as if your response is more smart azz than serious. You're one of the league this, league that guys so enlighten me on something here. As a bonafide card carrying APA member don't you get table time free or at severely reduced rates even on nights that aren't league nights? Of course you do. How much $ do you think that saves you on table time a week, a month, a year? Considering what that sum is you're telling me that voluntarily contributing 50 cents a week of that you save in time isn't worth saving the game you supposedly love? If not then you're just a cheap nit. Go back to playing with your pocket marker and spare me of anymore talk of how you love a game but are willing to do nothing to help it survive. Again it's not about doing something for the pros, it's about doing something for the game.

Ahhh, here we go.

League players being a cheap nit. How about hitting up all those "real" players that sit in the rooms all day, drinking water, waiting to make a game-er, a lock up.... How many of those guys are gonna give you $10 "to save the game" they love?

I love when people that CLEARLY have no business sense discuss business.....because that's what you're trying to do.

Let me explain something to you. League members get discounted table times at pool halls because POOL HALLS DON'T MAKE MONEY FROM TABLE TIME. Maybe you don't know that, but it's true. They make money from the kitchen and the bar. And guess what? Die hard pool players are CHEAP. So, the only thing keeping the rooms.....read VENUE.....alive for those professional pool players is the college kids knocking back beers and eating wings while playing pool.....or those league bangers that you're mentioning. They're keeping the rooms open....not the pros, or their theoretical tour.

The leagues are keeping pool alive. Otherwise, you wouldn't have a pool hall to play in. Simple economics. If you still don't understand, I can post a chalkboard talk on YouTube to help you out...
