Any chance we can get a close-up on that?

It does look like it could be a match.....but not sure....

I don't even remember seeing one.

Definitely a very cool Joss!

Have to admit, I've never seen a red-engraved Joss logo cue from the old days either. In fact, I don't remember seeing any birdseye buttsleeve Hoppe-style Joss cues from the old days, at least early 70s and before. This one is very unusual.

All the best,
WW

Buster.....sweet looking Joss......looks like you have a 12mm shaft and a 13mm shaft.....or some variation thereupon.
And just like others previously posted, I've never spotted a Joss logo like this one........really cool cue.

This one came with some very cool history behind it. I was luckily able to acquire it locally from the original owners sister, both just great people. It's a rare thing to be able to get the entire history of a cue of this age as it's usually lost in the various changes in ownership, but not this one, hence why this one is special to me. The original finish was worn down pretty good so I had it cleaned up, however I tried to keep it as original as possible with the original linen and even the original ivory ferrules. Just some new tips and a fresh coat of paint ;). When it comes to these classic players I try to change as little as possible. Incredible shaft wood to boot. They don't make em like this anymore...

Gone but not forgotten

Brett, the cue looks great, you certainly did it some justice. I am glad that the cue ended up in your ownership. My sister and I both enjoyed dealing with you. You are a class act. Enjoy the cue and enjoy the game. I will think of the cue often. Best wishes.

A couple 1980's cues. Showing change in point construction under the wrap.

Top cue late 1980's

Bottom cue 1983

1985 with a purple heart handle under wrap. Of note is the handwritten number "18". Hard to make out. Cue happens to be a J18 model.

One more and I will stop cluttering up this thread......

Writing under wrap. It is a nick Varner series Joss cue from what appears to be 1987.

Crap. One more pic of points from the early 80's.

Cue on left is 1982

Cue on right is 1983

There was a period in which the outside veneer was rounded and the inner veneers were sharp.
