Anyone know if this tournament in Seninole, FL at the HardRock Casino is still on or on hold? Hardrock has it down for 9/28-10/2 2016, yet there has ben nothing about it on AZB in many weeks. Johnnyt
 
Funny "The Tornado" is on here 5 times a day since April to July bumping her tournament, and then nothing. Still taking entries and it's still a go at HardRock. Johnnyt

The Amateur Men's evvent has a full field of 128 registered entrants. The Women's Pro event has a full field of 64 registered entrants. The Pro Men's event has 58 registered entrants. The Amateur Women's event is still pretty low. The info is all on the event website.

I posted this post (below) in the tournament section and have tried the FB link and sent messages to Linda on the message link on the Tornado Open page but no one has responded re: getting entry refunded....

I, like MANY have concerns about this issue and will not be making the trip for this event after paying for the entry due to the health concerns noted in the above articles and warning from the CDC and the WHO.

Over the past day or so I have tried to contact the Webmaster (Linda) for the Tornado Open here (http://www.thetornadoopen.com/contact-us/ ) regarding the change in travel plan and paid entry refund policy. I haven't yet heard back.

Since this issue has 'came up' SINCE the tournament was announced and the refund policy has a 8/1 deadline (http://www.thetornadoopen.com/terms-conditions/), what should be the way the event organizers to handle paid entry players (families) not willing to take the risk to go to this event?

If a refund isn't offered, my suggestion might be to offer a paid entry (credit) into a future event. Its Just a thought to lessen the burden this unforeseen 'natural disaster' has place on us all. Personally, for my group, I've had to cancel flights, car rental, hotels and a Cruise... It hasn't been a fun last 24 hours..

It's the Seminole Tribe Johnnyt...not in Seminole FL. The tournament is at the Hollywood FL Hard Rock Casino....and yes, it is still on.

To follow up this was the response.... just a sec ago

"Randy I don't know what the issue is with the Zika virus everyone is still going and that isn't an issue for anyone. There is no refunds ...... Sorry but it's miles & miles away from us and it's not stopping anyone from going.
Just like the Olympics in Brazil everyone still went.."

Shouldn't there be some sort of refund (partial or full)
I mean even if a player has an accident and cannot play , he does not get refund?
What is standard practice in the pool industry?
Also it is not exactly true that everyone went - those rich millionaire frat golfer/ goofer boys like Rory didnt go. Steph Curry, Le Bron didnt go :grin:

Ummm. i thought so too but apparently not.... Eventhough Norwegian Cruise line and Alligient Air thought differently (in my case). According to the CDC if your considering getting pregnant or having sex in the next 6 months or simply want to avoid perminent brain damage you shouldn't travel to the Miami area since new cases (now even sexually contracted) are being reported weekly. lol But hey what do they know...there's gunna be a pool tournament.
