Chris Hightower pool cue

Looks like a 3/8 x 10 pin to me. The last few cues you have had looked good. I think you are too worried about what others think. I would worry about what you think and how the cue plays.

I have some nice cues but typically play with an old beat up Schon R1. Why? Because I got over what people think a long time ago and it plays good.
 
Just an FYI, there are some bocote haters out there so even a four-pointer with a maple knows wouldn't be universally loved. Like others have said it's what you think of the cue that matters the most!
 
Contact Chris, as He will know what the pin in this cue is. Main thing, when put together, how does it feel/play? As long as you like the feel and hit, what does anything else matter?

Justin, that's an awesome looking Cue. The Pin does appear to be the 3/8" x 10 TPI but like another person said, Chris can confirm it for you.

I see a least 10 threads and the screw is shorter than 1".
Not 3/8 10 to me. The threads looks too close to each other to me for a 10 TPI.

I really like the looks of the cue, but please give me your honest opinions about the cue (I am just curious to know what others think of the cue).

I have never seen a joint like the one that is on this cue before. I am not sure, but it appears to be maybe a 5/16x18 joint pin, that threads into a wooden threaded joint on the shaft (I have just never seen that type of combo in a joint before, but I might be wrong about the type of joint that it is).

Just looking at it I would 'think' it's gonna be too rear balanced because of the logo. Wouldn't be so bad if he only used an H or maybe an H inside a circle.

Most cuemakers sign between the points,after spinning on a lathe to determine which 2 points to sign between. If you choose to try to make that cue work be sure on every shot to at least make sure the logo is either straight up or straight down.

If you're still not comfortable with that cue you might could work a trade with someone with a more reasonable logo. How much are you gonna want for that cue,not that I'm interested in it with that logo but just to give everyone else a heads up on it,GLWS !!!

We build a lot of cues with 5/16-14 Flat Faced joint with and without inserts. We harden the wood threads and are good to go. My son also uses the 3/8-10 pin a lot so I am unsure which one that is.

Chris, you must not frequent the main board much. It's not the logo that needs to be smaller, he needs to get the points sharpened for the cue to play to its potential.
