I agree Jason. People are so quick to say this kinda stuff holds pool back. its total BS in my opinion. Pool is boring to watch even as a die hard fan. The ONLY pool event that is fun to watch is the Mosconi cup. The fans and the encouraged colorful players make it exciting to watch.

I am currently in London and watched a dart tournament on TV. I am not a dart fan but couldn't help to be glued to the match because the players and fans made it exciting. They were hooting hollering like a NFL game. It was great.

Just like gambling and shady characters hold poker back. :rolleyes: Poker had 1 hour of coverage a year on ESPN for the final table of WSOP prior to the WPT. As soon as the WPT started showing the hole cards, it went to a multi billion dollar business that is on tv pretty much 24x7. All because it is now exciting to watch. Nothing has changed... its still the same 2 card holdem game its always been.

How many people you think would love to watch the finals between Earl and Jason shaw 14.1? That was the most exciting pool match I have watched in ages.

Bring on the color and drama!!!!!

A ridiculous analogy. Pool is a one on one game like tennis and golf. Plug those into your analogy and see how it works. Regardless, Jason'e threat was not during sport, it was after, in public on the freekin interwebs!

So. Im pretty sure Mike lurks here, and does not give a flying rip what anyone thinks of how how conducts himself. So this is a non-issue from the "why'd that happen?" angle. But I would like to know what in particular Jason (with a 'Y') found to be propellant with regard to knocking a M'er F'er out. Just mildly interested... not very, but meh... kay.

I much prefer the view of mike holding and playing with jaysons child after matches that we have seen a few times in social media. I am sure it's heat of battle talk and we will see more of them together off the table.

It is different which is evidenced by history. I am not aware of any tennis or golf fights at the pro level.

Point taken on the golf. I meant that it is not a team sport. Like pool though, as the field narrows it becomes one on one pretty quick.
 
I have been threatened more then a few times but never had anyone cap it off with the word "promise''.;)

That's boring. Any suggestions on how we can get some fights going in tennis and especially golf?

Nascar has had a ton of fights, and even a driver running over and killing another driver.

Really thinking about it - pool is boring as hell!

OK you changed my mind! I have seen the Nascar fights and liked it very much. No other reason to watch nascar really except crashes and fights. I also can't stand some tennis players and golfers and would enjoy watching someone kick the shit out of them on TV. In hockey, they get in real trouble for using there stick as a weapon in a fight. I'm not sure the pros should use their cues on each other but laying some guy out on the table and punching his face in would be cool. Refs could let them go a bit before trying to separate the players, just like hockey. I'm in! I bet Rodney Morris could kick some ass...
