Is Shaw the best player on American soil

If you play someone in a tournament style format for a winner take all amount....is that what you call gambling? If so, you have no idea what gambling is because you're to young and immature at this game. One set decides nothing, which is why they didn't play another set....it was an exhibition match.

I was talking about Shane and Chang over in China not Shane and Ko in Vegas. I heard he lost a bit over there.

I would play JS an all around. 10 ball, banks, one pocket, 8 ball

Now we are talking boys and girls ..... Who wants some of that ! And he ain't talking bout a tournament! I'll even come bet on Mr Bergman AND play some of u AZers some while they play .... PM me ...... I'm always game for a road trip and playing strangers .Run tell that !!!!!!!!!

Yeah....and you heard my grandma was looking for some $5 a game action too.....only she's been dead for 60 years:grin:

He (Shaw) has a long way to go to be even in the same breath of accomplishments as SVB, and as far as I can see SVB isn't slowing down any either.

My money is on Bergman too, but if you are ever in the SW look me up. I'm a bar table player, though.

Ok .... where in southwest ..... I don't wanna know your name just where and what day do u play there so when I come thru headed to lake havasu city for boat races I'll plan days ! Dang bar tables but I'll take some free money to pay for my trip!

Hell last time you just horse ****ed him in a race to 100 rotation pool match. I lose a lot of money on that one and won a great deal more respect of your game...

I doubt you need to mix it up in games to beat Shaw, I think with the right opportunities you could be of the most feared players on the planet. You simply need to stop being a "Mosconi Cup Contender" and start trying to be "A world class elite feared in every WPA world event against world class fields."

Justin, few people ever have a chance of being the top tier absolute best at something, do everything it takes to put yourself out there and become the player you should be, because that player is a world champion if they put the time in and commitment to true top tier pro pool.

The only person stopping you from being a Shaw or SVB caliber player is yourself and the fact that you have no yet chosen to become a world pro and travel to all of the events and focus on winning the world events.

Forget 1-pocket and 8-ball for the time being, focus 100% of your time on 9-ball and 10-ball, push yourself to becoming machine, learn a break that is predictable and repeatable and get a kid/protégé to rack the balls for your hours on end for break practice in return for lessons, shoot racks on a super tight table so the prime time pressure feels like a breeze in comparison.

You have nothing stopping you from being the best but yourself and your own choice not to do everything you can to play in the major international events, go to the Philippines and gamble, go Taiwan and gamble, get out there and hone your skills, because I will be honest, on natural talent you have loads.

You should be a clear shoe in next to SVB for MC status, but you are not. You should be competing with him and Shaw in the main games at the top of that level of play.

No offense, but compared to them you seem to be a little bit less of a full time world class pro, and that has nothing to do with skill. Those guys go out and playing in all of the majors.

Take SVB's stance, do you think at the start of the year he is worried about getting enough MC points? He is aiming at winning major events. World championships, world Masters, Derby, US Open, china open, Kuwait open, japan open, ect... The MC is not even a thought, if he hits his goals the MC is a given.

Do we really think that this is the genuine J.Bergman? Dont think so...
And there is no best player, there's around 10 excellent ones with 10 different styles.

Stop being hotblooded americans throwing around the word "best" :boring2:

Of course it is

Celtic you are right...

Celtic, 2017 I am going going to Philippines for a month and I'm going to start playing the bigger events. I just started getting invited to these. In the past I could have gone to a few but some are simply not worth going to. No way I can spend $3,000 to try to win $10,000 when there is 50 players there that win the tournament. It's kind of heartless but you can stay in the Midwest and play an easy bar table tournament and make $3-5k as much as a lot of big titles in pool. Some pay well like World 9 Ball, China Open, U.S. Open, etc...

At my pool hall, I saw a poster for an 8ball tournament in Baton Rouge at the casino, $8K added, $6K first, 300 entry. I think its doubles too. First thing came to mind was Justin and Skyler.

Do these tournament prohibit pro's?? I didnt see any mentioning on the flyer.

Shaw is the hot player right now and no one wants a long (over 30) 9 or 10 ball action with him. Shaw is a better player now than he was a few years ago. He now knows he can win. Johnnyt

Alex has an open $100k bet. Is Jayson calling heads or tails?
