Wondering if anyone has come up with a good way to keep stored extra shafts organized, ideally, something that slips on and stays put and can be written on.

Not a big fan of, for instance, painters tape.

Any suggestions appreciated.

best,

joint protector and circular sticker.

If your info won't fit on a sticker on j/p's, a strip of Tyvek or similar material that resists tearing could be sandwiched between the shaft and protector. Write on it with a marker, poke a hole in the end for the j/p pin, and screw it on.

shaft condoms - markers

thx PK and DH for your suggestions.

I did get another suggestion from az member nine o nine (Mitch) that I looks like will do nicely for me. He suggested to use the fingers from medical gloves, slip them onto the shafts and write the info on that I need. It works fine.

You can use all the fingers except the thumbs which are a bit large. All the other fingers slide on snugly and will stay put.

I can make these look nicer (you can tell which ones I cut with scissors and which I just pulled off) but I really don't care, they'll be stored inside cases.

Thanks Mitch for thinking of this cheap and easy solution.

google "finger cots"

they come in different sizes but they might be too thin or short for your use...

I tried a few this morning, the first one tore but he second one rolled on ok.

They're cheap and available at your local drug store/pharmacy

Roll a small cone of paper that's wider than the tip but not as wide as the collar, leaving a little extra to write on, tape it together and slide it on the tip end. By the time you get to the collar, it'll be a snug fit.

Paper coin rollers are free at your bank.

I was going to suggest a post-it note held with a small rubber band near the joint collar.

Would there be a market for joint protectors that incorporate a flash drive or somehow store a cues info by some other electronic means?

That's okay chicken, thumbs aren't fingers, anyway!

Brian.
I have a Brothers handheld label maker that I use for lots of things.
It should work perfectly when applied lengthwise to a cue shaft, or a butt, for that matter.
As for removal, they peel off easily and leave no residue.
I got mine at Office Depot for about $35.

thx guys!
I don't know why I can't stop thinking about a solution for this but I swear this will be my last one...

I think the cots are going to be too short and too thin but how about party balloons? There's got a to be a size and strength that will solve this for you.

Aside from that I like Tramp's idea..

Best to all
