Bergman vs Mora for 50k who ya like!

I wouldn't mind 30-45 second shot clock. I think 40-45 seconds is plenty of time to make sure there isn't slow playing. I don't know if it will happen because he wants to play 10 ball rack the 10 on the spot which I have never heard of. I offered to play magic rack 9 ball, 9 on spot 9 ball, 10 ball, or even 8 ball. I wasn't disrespecting John when I asked to play. If I ask Shane or Efren to play it isn't saying I'm going to kick your ass, I'm just asking to play if anything it's friendly. I respect him and his game. I think he's definitely one of the top 5 North American players and for sure the best Canadian players besides Alex P. Looking forward to playing, hopefully soon.

I'll take a little action on JM if ya want only cause of me mouthing off about MC - I honestly would flip a coin here, but I feel I owe you the satisfaction of gettin a little of my $$$. Let me know - $100

I want to make it very clear I am not challenging you here. I feel like I really owe you the bet if you want it. You can PM me if you want or ignore me(preferred) :)
Seriously, good luck

The Justin Bergman we saw at the Mosconi would win ..... unless he gets the Morra we saw in April at Super Billiards Expo, in which he beat Van Boening in the final.

Almost too close to call. My guess is that Morra will have more break and run racks but Justin will win a little more than half the safety/tactical battles.

Morra 100 Bergman 94

Justin, do you really think hes top 5 in North America? I thought he was top 15 but definately not top 5.

Give me Justin.

I rather see best of 5, race to 17.

Why not just individual races for smaller amount and pay after each set?

Playing multiple races to 13 (win by 2) for $5,000-$10,000 is much more entertaining for the paying fan, and will have zero effect on the final outcome, i.e. the better player still walks away with the cash.

Plus you really get to see how they shoot when the pressure is on more often, because in all honesty the only time a player is really under fire in a race to 100 is when his opponent gets to 90 games.

I'm of the opinion that Justin's cue ball is a little more refined than Mora's, that makes the difference here. I'll take Justin going away in this one.

In a gambling session I'm pretty sure they're not too concerned about what the paying fan prefers & rightly so. You post the stake $ & I'm sure they'll play any way you like.

Bergman does not play slow (not in any rotation games that I have seen him play in).

Sorry I was thinking one hole for some reason. You're right, his pace is quicker in rotation games.

Morra, on the other hand, plays slow enough for the both of them

The person streaming the match should care. More entertaining match means more paying customers.

More paying customers means more revenue. More revenue means more kick back to the players.

So yeah, they probably should be a little concerned about the paying fans that are contributing to their livelihood.

I do not think that John Morra plays all that slow either. I would not call him a fast player, but I would not call him a slow player either. I do not think he takes more then 30 seconds per shot (on average). Watch this match for example.

Get a timer out, and time the amount of seconds it takes Morra to shoot each of his shots (from the time the other player finishes shooting, to the time that Morra finishes his shot). Morra is not that slow of a player. I love his game by the way. Would love to see a match between Morra and Bergman.

Name 14 other players from North America that play as good or better then Morra (playing 9 or 10 ball)? Who all (from North America) in recent years have placed really high in tournaments like the China Open? I find it interesting that you think that Morra is only in the top 15, in North America (even if you include the players living here that are not from here).

I think these are the pros that currently reside in North America.

I have better than Morra:

Shane
Shaw
Alex
Dechaine(by a hair)
Bergman(close)

Even with Morra:(a lot of them are off their prime)
Warren Kiamco(practically lives in Cali)
Rodney
Mika
Darren
Toasty
Klatt(Morra slight edge)
Earl(I would put money on Morra)

Morra slightly/moderately better than
Oscar
Sky
Corey
Justin Hall
John Schmidt

Okay, so if you do not include players that were pro long before they relocated to the US, then Morra is at the very least a top 10 player (in North America), right? This discussion is about money players (gamblers) though, not tournament players, right? I understand that there may be a big difference in the 2 (because a great tournament player may not be that great of a money player, and vice versa?).

I still like Morra's game better then many of the above players.

SVB
Alex P
Dechaine
Dennis Hatch
Rodney
Archer
Earl
Corey Deuel
Bergman
Woodward
John Schmidt
Larry Nevel (if he had a strong mental game he'd be top 5 in country)
oscar D. (close)
Jason klatt
Sossei (slight edge to Morra) maybe

These are all players I would bet on if they played Morra. And half of them are past their prime.

P.S. John Morra gives everyone on my list the 5 out if it comes down to walking like they have a turtle head poking out.

Are you speaking of tournament players, or money players? Who all that you have named in your above list has placed high in top international events (in very recent years)? The China Open for example?

My money is on Bergman for this one. Justin, I don't see any reason for ten on the spot to scare you away. It's just a gimmick. Rack it a couple times and break , get a feel for it and you're good to go.

Anyone, PM me if you like Morra in this one, maybe we can get something friendly going on the side.

Since you have him blocked on FB he's asked that someone tell you he's fine the bet and the venue wants the race to be 100

I hope you don't play the horses:D. IMO there are quite a few listed there Morra would beat in a race to 100 by quite a few games.
