Now we know why you don't like Diamond. The Blue labels don't bank that much different than a GC4 except you can shorten a bank a tad more.

GC6 video
On Reddit there is a video about the GC6 so i guess its on. Apparently Brunswick went to Herron Design School in Indy for ideas. Looks like it will probably have the guts of a 5 with a fresher outer design. Video makes no mention of a timetable. Date of vid. is 2014,btw.

Perhaps you are correct but I don't think he got elected because nobody wants to work hard.
He got elected because his opponent is more of an idiot than he is... He lied to everyone just like every candidate does... It is a shame he will be our President, but, nothing I can do about it and I hate to say I would rather him than Hillary... They both are not worthy.

Well, lending tables to a particular large US event promoter who is now dead & having him sell them was kind of a turn off as well.
Oh, do enlighten us. Who and what are you referring to?? Can't just toss a grenade like that out there. Fill us in. Are his initials BB?

The black one? I was thinking about this. Brunswick makes literally truckloads of cash with their watersports ( boats and motors ) and could really care less about pool at this point. They only still make them because of company nostalgia.

I just hope one of these kids don't play in a bar league and want a 7ft table.

Sadly, they are facing hard times. They used to sponsor the WPBA at $250,000 a year endowment. That has ended. They are facing a battle with local table makers that are putting up good product for less. The billiard side is a branch of a larger company. That larger parent company is not focusing on the table/billiard business much these days.
Honestly unless they come out with a break through there is no reason to put out a new GC table version. They can sell the current one till the wheels fall off. I personally play with the Diamond Pro Am 9ft table. Better table IMO and cost me $7,500 vs $10,000 for a GC. The Diamond table had a ton of input from touring pros to develop the perfect tournament table. I love it. It is hard to play on as compared to bar tables and regular commercial tables. That makes you a better player and if you happen along a bar room tourney you will kill it.

I like the Diamond Pro better 'cause i hate ball-return tables. Playing one-hole and digging balls out of the box gets old QUICK. Great for 9ball tho.
As for the "they ought to make a 7-foot table" part, Brunswick bought Valley, apparently decided they didn't like that segment of the market, and sold Valley (back to the original owners?) in a few years.

Actually the first round of the GC3 did in fact have pinned slates and the frame had the side beams that went end to end and the foot/ head beams went in between the sides like the 1 &2. They also had metal straps that the castings mounted into like the 1 & 2 and then changed to the cheap threaded insert. They should have left things that way, but, they did not.
At the end of the day there is this: the Gold Crown has influenced every major change to pool tables since Diamond came into the picture in 1987... That brings forth the fact that Diamond used the GC3 as a model for their first table. They must have been doing something right with the Gold Crown since 1961. The design has changed even more from the 3 to the 4 & 5 and in my opinion are the best made and playing tables out there. Diamond's play excellent as well ( I sell & install/ work on both Brunswick and Diamonds) and have made an awesome name for themselves. Brunswick none the less pioneered the pool table industry and I appreciate that they won't "cheapen" the Gold Crown Series by using plywood and lots of adhesive to build them.
As for the 7' tables, Diamond has created an amazing market for the 7' table and Brunswick could benefit from producing a 7' version of the Gold Crown. The main problem is it costs a lot of money to buy a new Gold Crown and that is because ( even though they are made over seas ) it is expensive to build them.
Obivously there are some facts here in my statement and also some opinions. Not trying to be right, just stating what I know and how I feel

I heard the winner of that design contest was the Metro and it was supposed to be the VI and when they debuted the tables at a tournament they had bad design problems.
Brunswick changed there minds and off loaded them in Asia.

The GC 6 will come out in late December or early January.......I had a lot to do with the design of the GC 5.
I changed a lot of things on the 5 from all the things wrong with the 3 & 4....like the ugly ball box....the frame is the best frame of all GC tables....changed the casting to a 45 angle so the rails can't aline wrong.
The first time Brunswick offered a pro cut pocket tour table....or league cut pocket.
I think it's the best GC ever made.....I've seen the 6.......I like the 5 the best...but we will see what everyone thinks soon. Lol
