Bergman vs Mora for 50k who ya like!

For true.

The only slow bit with Morra's game is he takes a million warm up strokes. Wong on the other hand, takes years to make the simplest decision, and then gets up and down off the shot multiple times.

And at least Morra is a good player.

I do not think he takes too many practice strokes (or warm up strokes). I honestly do not understand why people think he is such a slow player. He is not a very fast player, but I would not call him a very slow player either.

I find it very interesting that people who had to put up with Johnny Archer for decades are now moaning and whining about Morra. Then again, Archer is not Canadian.

Bergman is "fearless" and full of cocky swag, but yet again asks for the 9 ball to be spotted there, the 10 ball there, he wants a shot clock and not to go to the toilet at all. I know well these "players" and what they're full of.

The only thing that Bergman mentioned was for the 9 ball to be on the spot, and he also said that he would play with a 45 second shot clock (but I am sure that he would not mind playing Morra without a shot clock). Morra is the one who wanted to play with the 10 ball on the spot, which Bergman mentioned that he had never heard of that before (or something along those lines).

I never thought that Archer was that slow of a player either.

His name is Orcullo (pronounced or COOL yo), but his passport is incorrectly spelled Orcollo (if it existed would pronounced something like or COLE yo). But it's Orcullo. I suppose he MUST compete as Orcollo in the States due to his government docs.

Freddie

Thanks for that info. I will start spelling and pronouncing his name the correct way now.

He averages anywhere from 5-8 warm up strokes on every shot, and sometimes more.

Even on this easy 9 ball, he takes about 5 warm strokes. https://youtu.be/yBaNxJTFHMo?t=12m9s

You should never claim to know what a player is thinking, but I'd be willing to bet a 10 piece nugget from Burger King that John counts his warm up strokes in his head.

Ya he may but it's measured in seconds not minutes is 30 seconds considered slow play?

Mentioning him with Wong is a joke he's a rocket ship compared to Wong

I think I counted 5, but why should it matter how many warm up (I would call them practice) strokes he takes before following through the cue ball? My point is that I do not think he takes longer then 30 seconds (on average) to shoot any shot. Remember, I noted "on average", so some times he may take a little longer, and sometimes a little shorter on the amount of time it takes him to shoot a shot. I am sure that he could play just fine with a 30 second shot clock. Shot clocks might make players nervous though. I can't imagine any player liking them (even a player as fast as Jayson Shaw).

I honestly never even thought to count the number of practice strokes a player takes, before they shoot the shot. If I started counting mine, I think that might really mess my game up. Maybe not. I do not know. When aiming at the object ball (or when aiming at any shot), I think that the amount of practice strokes might be a little different (every time). A player follows through their shot, when they are nice and comfortable about doing so (and not any sooner), so no, I imagine that he does not count his practice or warm up strokes. It is all about getting a good feel for the shot. That is all.

U got , money ?

Money for what exactly? To bet that Morra does not take longer then 30 seconds (on average) to shoot each of his shots? Yes, I would bet the little money that I have on that.

Maybe some pool fans just do not like John Morra for some reason, so they make up excuses in their mind (that may not be true), about why they do not like to watch him play.

Yeah, true.

Mike is a legend of slow play if you ever see him play fast that's because he's been told to speed it up anyone in the know knows it , it's simply no secret ,
I will add Mike has got better since he came on here looking for sponsors and many brought his slow play up ,, and he has got better for sure ,Jm knows the play quicker his pre shot routine is slower but overall faster and if it comes down to a critical shot that's where the big difference is , time the over all matchs in a turney it's no comparison

Orcullo is how Dennis spells his name. I got an autograph from him after a lesson and that's how he spelled it. I think in another thread I read that somebody started spelling it incorrectly when he came to the states and he never bothered to correct people

Dennis told me the same thing. I believe Fred's passport story is correct.

It's nice to see some action on both sides. They are both very talented young players and both seem to still be improving over time. For what it's worth, in a long gambling 10 ball match, I would take Bergman. I watched the Oscar/Morra match in person and the Bergman/Oscar match online. My thinking is Bergman can keep the intensity going a little better in a long match, but I think it would be close.

But That's why they play the game!

Tough to call. Pretty even match but if they're playing 10 ball I might like Morra's break a little better.

I don't think any of you guys understand how good JM is..

He has the complete package compared to Iceberg.
The break, the runouts, the focus, the talent, the everything.

I think Iceberg is a 30 percent underdog.

I'll gladly take 6 to 5 on the money betting on Bergman. Which is meeting you a little bit in the middle because 6 to 5 translates to about a 20% underdog

I would like to bet a minimum of $500 on Bergman to win whatever match they play. Even bet.

Open to yourself or anyone else.
thx

John accepted the challenge and wants to play 10-ball, race to 100.

Some people took it as "Justin being rude or angry" but I know that's not how he meant it and is one of the most respectful players in the sport. As he-himself said - he respects John's game and that's why he wants to play.

It's a lot of money and should be a very exciting, interesting match.
