Theres no way this video is serious, right? Absolutely no way. In that case, its pretty funny
I think the vid is real serious. But that is good news. It opens a door to the Schlock market. Bigger and better ways to do things below amateur level. Why do things right when it can be be done fast and cheap. No degree or experience needed.

How about a layered tip made with duct tape? You wouldn't need any chalk. The sticky from the tape would give the friction. When the stickey wears off peel that layer off to get to the next fresh one.

You could make the tip by using a driving a hole punch to the thickness you want into the roll of tape. Then you could just keep adding that plug to the first tip that was glued on using the glue gun.

3M Duct tape might work. I bought a few rolls from the Dollar Store (please do not ask how much they cost). The quality was poor. Did not stick.
