it trips me out that some people think that just because a player doesn't use any specific "aiming system" that this invalidates the whole concept of aiming systems.
Who cares if Jason uses one or not? If he does then great and if he shares it then great?
I bet we could go back ten years and find many posts where people are saying Shane is all natural just point and shoot.
Then what happens? Because of ALL of the conversation around aiming someone ASKS Shane point blank and - surprise - Shane has an aiming system. One that he says he figured out.
Here is a fact....Jason, Shane, Rodney, Efren, all the pros have put in more table time than you can imagine figuring out how to do what they do. Some of them probably spend that time hitting millions of balls and just internalizing the results and some of them are more deliberate than that in that they try to classify and parse out the cause and effect and develop systematic ways to repeat the results they want.
In any case they have not only THOUGHT more about pool than you, they have PLAYED more pool than you, by a very very very large margin.
The phrase forgot more than you know applies perfectly to them. In fact, while you are here arguing about how to play they are probably hitting balls.
I would be interested to know if Jason has a systematic way to aim. I don't think he does but if he does I would not be surprised. Aiming systems make it easier to appear like a 'natural' shotmaker. The viewers have no clue what the player is seeing and "measuring" with his eyes as he approaches the shot.
