Issue during APA Playoffs

I can't believe how many people would get tight-assed over a couple of APA 2's playing a match.
I remember one night we were playing a team that almost had to disband because they only had four players. This was in the middle of the session when a team wasn't allowed to add players to their roster (except in an emergency, which this was).
So one of their guys talked his wife (who had never played pool before, and it showed) into playing for the survival of the team. We felt so bad for this poor lady that we let her husband give her as many timeouts as she needed.
Once again....come on people, it's only APA league here. Some people ought to be ashamed.

I would let two APA 2 players do whatever they wanted to LOL, I doubt it would make much difference in the outcome, although I would guess the handicap would be crazy for a 2 vs anyone else. And I would rather see new players enjoy playing and learning than beat them, but of course that is a personal thing. I've thrown tournaments in the finals or to let someone advance when I know that they were good folks and deserved to feel the joy of a win. One time my son and I actually "conspired" to let a player win if we happened to play him because he is our weekly tournament every week but just can't seem to cash ever. Unfortunately neither of us ended up playing him.
This early in session I would not have cared, with the breaker being the same rank. I would just hope my player won the lag and went rackless. If it were playoffs, or playing for a close first place, they better have announced it prior to the match beginning or I wouldn't agree to it. As fast as the tables play in a lot of places up there, especially Sunrise, Legends, and Cue Time...a 5 year old could make a legal break.

They should have to pass it on. My girlfriend when she first played in the league won her lag and passed the break to her opponent. She wasn't confident in her break at all so she figured it was better to keep her confidence. Throws off the opponent a bit too. If you can't break, you can't play the game, next option is to pass the break. Only way I see around it. What's with this third party bullshit?
This was the playoffs and it ended up being tight. Their 2 didn't win. But it was close enough to scare me a little bit. Just glad we made it through all our rounds.
If this was requested during regular session there would be no hesitation to allow it.
Playoffs ? .... It would depend on a number of factors with the main two being how well I got along with the other captain and whether I thought he was trying to get an advantage over me..
Tri cups ? ...i doubt it. I might make an exception for a few people I know.
Ltc's ? ...hell no it aint happening .
I was thinking the same thing on the LTC's.
Higher level tournaments that is not allowed. If you win the lag, then you break. If you don't want to break, then don't win the lag.

You're probably wondering what this is. It's a list of shit I take real serious that others may not. Please enlighten me on what other things I shouldn't take too serious.
I prefer to take personal responsibility for my actions/decisions. Why did this team play someone incapable of breaking? Most teams carry 6-8 players.
Regular season & they don't have any subs... sure go ahead & have someone break for them. Hell, I've allowed someone to play as a different person. I really don't care usually. During postseason (title of thread states this is the case) it's a different story. I will not cheat nor will I allow someone else to cheat. I owe it to the people who will almost assuredly make it to Vegas maybe once in their life a fair effort. I've been 10+ times for APA/BCA so it's not a big deal to me.

Answer: APA....which is in my opinion a social/beginners league where the object should be for having fun (hell, it says that in their motto). If you're going to take APA pool so serious that it bothers you that another SL2 is breaking for another SL2....you're probably shooting in the wrong league.
FWIW, the things you list as things you take real serious are also the things I take real serious too....just not APA (which you didn't list but seem to be serious with).
Oh yeah, and screw Vegas. I don't care if I ever go there. I really don't care about making the playoffs, but if one of my teams gets there, I'll play my heart out for them, knowing that THEY want to go. I'm just in it for a night out with my wife to play a little pool with family and friends. I just can't take it too seriously, as apparently some people do.
But alas, our opinions seem to differ, and that's okay. The world would be an awful boring place to live in if everybody all had the same viewpoints.

It okay to have differing opinions. But whilst you say this in this post your previous posts seem to DRASTICALLY contradict that's it's okay for others to have differing viewpoints
And one of the things I live by in pool is I allow people to take pool as seriously (or not seriously) as they like. "You" want to be out for a good time with friends? Awesome, you do you. Have a blast!!! But what I've noticed is it's often the people who choose to take it seriously who are the ones not allowed to take it as seriously as they choose. We get made fun of and mocked because "it's just a couple SL2's" so why you so serious?!?!
Seems like people should cut us a break. Some seem to be aghast that we're going to follow the rules and insist others do as well.

Definitely let the other player break for her then I would suggest to go run some errands or get a bite to eat lol. I'm interested to hear the circumstances of this matchup and what led up to this match even being played?
True story... I once played with the worst sl2 in existence, she was 0-16 and a true sl2 (would be a zero if there were such a ranking) and just out to have fun. We would always use her as a strategic sacrifice as she just didn't care. We once played her against another sl2 just to see what would happen and ONE HOUR later we had our answer 0-17. It was one of the most horrifying events I've ever witnessed. How long did this matchup take especially since the other sl2 had a BROKEN hand?? I can only imagine!
