If they don't want it taken seriously they should suspend scorekeeping and make it free.
Everyone knows those sandbaggers were really 4s trying to get to nationals anyway.

If you are playing APA with girls and 2s and people who can't break, you aren't playing pool anyway.
Let them break with a jackhammer.

It okay to have differing opinions. But whilst you say this in this post your previous posts seem to DRASTICALLY contradict that's it's okay for others to have differing viewpoints
I stated in an earlier post I would have no issue with this during regular session but when it comes to higher level tournaments I would not allow it.
The mentality of league players and serious players are pretty much the same whether you realize it or not.. Well in some situations anyway.
Take a game that really means nothing for example. One 5 in regular league match is not going to go all out and try to demolish another...in most situations. An a level player is not going to go all out and try to demolish another a player in a game foe funsies in most situations ..unless either player just wants to stroke their ego some. In both examples neither player shows their true speed.
Ltc's come up and this same apa.5 blows that other 5 away. The same 2 a players match for a money match and one blows the other away.
The apa 5 is called a sandbagger. The a player is called a hustler.
The predominant opinion on this forum is the apa player is a sandbagger and is despised on here. The a player is a hustler and is highly regarded..
Personally I see no difference between them
It's been said many times on here by many serious players....the more that is at stake the better they play. I totally agree with that philosophy...yet when an apa player agrees with it he is a sandbagger. That line of thinking just boggles my mind .
another person racks for them, maybe, break for them, no sir.
That was always my logic too. What's bad is their guy who broke for her is suppose to be a 2 also. But he's a big 280 pound guy. His first break, he gets up to break for the girl and with his sledgehammer break sinks 3 balls.
My first thought is we made a huge mistake. Then the girl on the opposing team who is the actual player. I notice her soft cast actually gives her a natural bridge. She runs the table down to the 9 and missed. At this point I knew it was a big mistake. Luckily after that, the alternate breaker never got to break again. But it could have really put us in the hole in that Playoff Round.
Okay, see...... this is information that should have been divulged two days ago when you started this thread.
If it's not obvious that this is an intentional move, then it's one helluva coincidence.........
You're speaking in concepts I can't quite grasp. Demolish another player? What is that? I play my top speed out of respect for the game and my opponent at all times. My top speed often doesn't prevail but that's not the point. If you want to develop a solid pre shot routine leading to consistent play that's what you must do. Every shot you shoot without executing your best effort is a shot dragging your game backwards.
And if you can't break then hand me the cue ball and don't expect to come to the table if I can help it.

I am.going to try to put.it into terms I hope you can understand.
Every time a thread about apa surfaces it never fails that posters bring up sandbagging.
I agree there is sandbagging in apa.bug I don't believe it's as prevalent as posters on here would lead you to believe. It's evident that posters on here despise apa due to the myth that it is full of sandbaggers' and the sandbaggers are the scum of the earth ....so.to speak.
Yet hustlers are more or less revered on here. I see no.difference between a huatleror a sandbagger.
I respect the fact that you say you try to play your beat ever match and agree that laying low hurts your game.
I want to share with you my experience about shooting pool onw night around 7 years ago. I had an injury to my right forearm where I was out of work for an entire year. The first 3 months I wore a full cast from my fingertips to my elbow. Only my thumb was exposed. The next 3 months I wore a partial cast from 4 inches from my elbow to my fingers but exposed my thumb and index finger. My other 3 fingers were still in the cast as I was not allowed to move them at all.about a month after the second cast was put on I just had to get out of the house. Four months of sittin at home was driving me nuts.
I went to a bar and decided to see if I could hold a cue well.enough to shoot a little . After winning my first match I tried to break and just could not hold the cue well enough. I asked my opponent if I could get some onw to break for me. He replied only if he could select the breaker and I said ok. He chose a girl sitting nearby. Of course she could not break worth a crap but still better than I could . I kept winning and she kept breaking for me.
Suppose after I won half a dozen matches it was your turn to challenge the table. How would it look to your peers you coming up to me with your asshat remark....if you can't break get off the table .
Show some courtesy to the world.

So, referring directly to this thread I'm sure we all know the rule, but as The APA is a league built more on fun and participation,
Some people on this forum simply cannot wrap their head around this concept.
That being said, I'm sure teams, captains, and players will, in some circumstances, continue to make "gentlemen's agreements" to accommodate during weekly play, players with certain difficulties.
You are absolutely correct as I have seen it done for the benefit of both my team and the opponent's team.
You're talking about a challenge table at the bar. Totally irrelevant to league play. I can break one handed without bridging at all. Just hanging in the air. Much less resting on the rail. This is nonsense you're talking. Call my remark asshat. Call me an asshat. Whatever you want. Just GTFO the table if you aren't physically able to play. Show some courtesy to the world.

So, if someone wants to learn how to play pool. they should practice the break shot until they have it down, then and only then should they try making a ball?
