My money is on "not a cog" but some other pleasant surprise. If I've read enough of these threads, I'd think $1000 would be the green light screaming deal price if this was describing a cog.

I've bought 2 cogs in the last few months for 750 and 850, they both were the same (plain with fancy rings) I sold the more played one for 850 and the other I'm hanging on to. I have my eye on one that's has some dings in it for around 600, but I'm holding out on that till I get a decent refinishing quote
