Good guy, for sure.

He was also a fixture at the us open. Playing it annually, as i recall.

Pool was better with him in, absolutely.

I can't believe it. I just spoke to him on FB the other day. I am shocked and saddened.

Mike and Keith had a special friendship. Mike loved to see Keith in action, and Keith enjoyed Mike's suave-ness. The two of them blended beautifully.

Mike competed in the U.S. Open every year. He is a real competitor and just has a strong passion for pool.

May he rest in peace always.

Always had a smile on his face. Here's Mike, depicted on the right, with a friend. He loved life to the fullest. He was a supporter in the Olney theater, rode a motorcycle, and played golf. He was a good friend to who knew him. He will be missed.

Mike Ricciardello was a prominent pool personality in the D.C. metro area. He hosted many pool charity events, and without his contributions, pool would not have shined so brightly in D.C.

Mike, BTW, was a successful real estate agent in the D.C. area and purchased a truck for the sole purpose of helping his clients move from one location to another, free of charge. In addition to making things happen on the local tournament trail, Mike had been a sponsor to players from time to time, to include Keith McCready. Check out the ads on the back of Mike's real estate moving truck, the ad at the bottom. :grin-square:

Wow what happen to him???? Sad news indeed....my condolences to his family....RIP mike

Yeah, very shocking...definitely too young! He was also a very good pool player and shotmaker (I felt he could slice balls in from 8 feet away as good as anyone) and we had a few really memorable matches.

He also was there with sage advice during the market and housing crash around 2008-9 when I had to sell my mom's house after she died. Realtors everywhere were suffering and panicking--but not Mike. He just calmly said that no matter the situation, every house will sell for the right price. As long as sellers know that and don't try to desperately chase the market with a delusional idea of their property's value, sales will still happen.

Anyway, I sold my mom's house in a community of mostly vacation homes--the hardest his market--in 2009 and still made a little profit!

Thanks for the memories and being part of the pool scene in the Mid-Atlantic, Mike!

I heard about this during the PA State Bar Box Championship.
Very sad indeed.

Mike was a presence, loved to have fun and was always ready with a story or a joke.
He loved the game and even worked with others to revive the flailing Planet Pool Tour for a while.

He was a nice man and was always very friendly.

He will be missed. The good ones always go first...:(

Mike

Mike always seemed to have a smile on his face and an encouraging word. He will truly be missed!!!
