Hohmann loses to Ko because of the Cyclop balls

Apparently what it does it bring out the three years of pent up energy people have on the subject ;)

No, what it really does is give some people something to talk about on AZB as it seems like there is very little to talk about anymore here. All that's called is stiring the pot because there's nothing else going on that anyone really cares to talk about, which is why so many have left AZB....shit gets old after a while.

P.S. same reason I'm about to go through my list of so called friends on FB, seems like every post i recieve is about someone wanting to sell cues or promote a pool tournament.... kind of clouds my FB posts....know what i mean!

Cyclop has analyzed the Ariamith balls as well and have come up with different specs than claimed too. The super Aramith Pro sets of balls won't maintain a shine no matter hos much you clean them and their abrasive surface adds friction and decreases the life of the cloth overall, but the more expansive Durmith ball set don't lose tbeir shine, and don't add to friction wear on the cloth....why is that? They're both made by Aramith right?

Did they analyze the resin content of the balls? Because if they did and still knowingly try to claim that Aramiths are 57% resin, I wouldn't trust whatever results they come up with for other specs.

Also, I'm not sure what Aramiths you are using, but the 5 sets I own (and 5 sets of Centennials) all stay shiny simply by wiping them with a damp microfiber cloth. As far as abrasiveness goes, that almost certainly has more to do with the finish on the balls than the resin content.

I was told they did analyze the phenolic resin content of the Cyclop and Aramith balls and came out with 85% v. 57-58%. I believe they had expert knowledge from the guy who originally was involved in creating the old Hyatt balls.

And just as my personal experience: prior to the DCC I was playing with a new set of Cyclop balls. Post DCC I've been playing with a new set of Aramith Super Pros. And my experience has been that after polishing both sets in the same Diamond polisher with the same Aramith Ball Cleaner, the Cyclop balls stay smudge free for considerably longer than the Aramiths. It's like 3 hours v 1 hour.

I am told that it's the higher percentage of phenolic resin in the Cyclop balls, which makes them harder, which means they can be polished to a finer finish, which means stays cleaner longer. YMMV.

They solved a problem that didn't exist.
Nobody complains about Centennial balls.

Justin just made a statement that 95% of the pros don't like those balls.
I wonder why Lou hasn't asked for video confession and signed affidavits.

Haven't heard the rules of the Pro's? Rule 1, if he wins then it's all good. Rule 2 if he loses, then its the fault of the table, the cloth, the balls, the spectators, someone talking in the back ground....everything except the players fault!

I've never heard of anyone blaming the centennial balls for losing.

Justin Bergman did not blame the balls for losing.
He said 95% of the pros don't like them and he said they skid too much.

I think the 95% that don't like them should boycott all tournaments using the Cyclop balls and not show up to play, then that'll leave a whole lot more prize money for those that just don't care.

Well then Joey, wby don't you write a letter to Brunswick and complaine to them that they're letting the pool playing world go to hell because their balls are no longer being used in the major pool tournaments and by the way, neither or their pool tables....and see if they care enough to respond back. As far as the skids go that it seems everyone complains about, happens no matter what balls are being used....period! But i have my own theory about that and it has nothing to do with the balls, or who makes them.

Should they boycott all tournaments using Andy cloth instead of Simonis too?

They don't have to like them, but they have to live and play with them.

Or you can take their feedback and take it to the manufacturer and see if anything can be done about them.

You know, kinda like the players hating the crap from the GC's plastic pockets ?

Nice spin to your claim players blame the balls for losing .
You're not a very good spinner.

The thing is, i don't have to spin anything. The problems got fixed, and plenty of ppl have posted in this thread they have no complaints about the Cyclop balls. So as always, you can please most of the people most of the time, but you can't please all the people all the time!

lol, and no one complained about ivory balls, and later clay balls, and then Centenials rolling off. No one ever complained about GC Is, and IIs, and IIIs. Or how about those Gandys, lol.

Coulda been there was no interweb for guys with nothing better to do to kevetch about every little thing.

Lou Figueroa
maybe?

Of course you're right... pro players have never been known to complain about anything.

And of course none of them seem to have returned any of that Cyclop tournament sponsorship money. Have you heard any of them doing that? Maybe if they hate the balls so much...

Lou Figueroa
guess they're not
that bad afterall, lol

I can understand he and others might not like them. Maybe they don't like the measles CB either. Maybe they'd all rather be playing on GCs. Perhaps they like the old green cloth instead of the blue. Maybe they'd all like a massage before every match.

Lou Figueroa
we all have preferences

If they feel strongly enough about it, yes they should boycott.

Personally, I'd think twice about bad mouthing a big tournament sponsor, if I were a pro player.

Words have consequences.

But his statement goes right along with my statement when I was telling you that a lot of pros are complaining about these balls.

And you replied asking me for a specific citation or a quote or a video interview......lol........you're a complete mess.......it's funny....specially when - like me - one doesn't have to live with it....hahaha

You're not a pro and don't play in his local room.
So, your words don't count.
He wanted Jay to name the pros.
One came out.
Now he's saying they better be careful.

Reminds me Jack Nicholson's character in A Few Good Men.
