Gold Crown 1 Rails

Does anybody know if the early Gold Crown 1 tables had the screw plates underneath the rail like the Anniversary tables do? I found a table to buy which is a Gold Crown 1. But it has the 8 bolt plate underneath. I just want to make sure it's correct. Thanks. Tom.

Here's a pic of my rail from an early GC1. I don't know if all GC 1's are the same, I'm sure someone with more knowledge than myself will chime in.

GC1s started out with the fig 8 nut plate, then later switched to the capture nut inserted lengthwise. GC2s had GC1 rails as there was no such thing as GC2 rails. When the GC3s came out, the capture nut was inserted sideways, and has been the same since.

Hey Glen, my GCI has the captured nuts, not the figure 8 nut plate. This is an all original matching parts table. What gives? Late GCI??? Original owner bought table new and had it installed in his home in 1971 I believe.

If its painted, its GC1, if its painted a Rosewood stain, its a GC2. GC2s only sold from 74'-76'. There was NO design changes in the 2s OTHER than the Rosewood stain painted finish. All improvements that everyone thinks that make a GC2....came out on the GC1s first.

If people would just understand, the reality is there was no GC2 because it was a GC1 with a different finish....that's all. The only other way to identify a GC2 is that the ball tray trim and the leg levelers were bronze in color, but the pocket castings and rail trim was still the same aluminum color as the GC1s.

This is the table in its original configuration from the Brunswick dealer with captured nut rails and adjustable feet.

No pictures but I would like to have it recovered when I can get someone up here to do it. I can get pictures then. I always had some confusion about whether mine was a I or a II but after everything Glen has said its a GCI. People say things like "no adjustable feet on the GCI's" so I thought I had a GCII

Nope buddy, what you got there is a GC1...original, for that time frame of GC1s.
