Cloth burn from breaking?

I play mostly 8b right now. Usually breaking from the same spots a few inches off the head spot.

Maybe 20 breaks a day on simonis 860hr.

Should I be worried about cloth burns?

Anything I can use before I can get a hold of an extra piece of cloth?

... maybe a dollar bill might help ...

Anytime you see white dots on the felt, its from breaking, masse or even draw shots creating burn spots. If it's your own table and you're consistently breaking from the same spot, consider putting a spot sticker.

Try a little piece of scrap cloth under the cue ball. About 3" square will do it. I saved some when I had my table installed. But just about any type of cloth will do.

Yes as mentioned before you will get burn spots from breaking, Jumping, Draw shots the best solution I have seen is to use a break jump cloth typically a small square of billiard cloth. If you don't have access to any scraps you may want to ask at your local pool hall or table mechanic. If you google it I think you will find there is a few companies that market a product for that purpose as well. I use a scrap piece of Simonis but here is a commercial product link you may be interested in

We always use a piece of Simonis when we break but it makes only a minimum amount
of difference. Once the cue ball leaves the patch of Simonis an hits the table the power and speed singe and burn the nylon and the cloth. Minimizes but does not eliminate the burn lines.

I will try to find pics of my table when i get home...should be amusing.

I wouldnt worry too much about the burn marks. Imo, it is a bit like worrying about the tires on a race car.

Yeah, you can keep them in good condition, but is that tyoe of use what led you to own it?

Break from different spots...all along the line...plus, you can move cb back just a little too. We should all be proficient in the break shot, from all possible points.

Beautiful...a trophy, of sorts.
