Favorite quote from Pool Movies

Look, friend, I'm not trying to hustle. I don't never hustle people that walk in a poolroom with leather satchels. Don't try to hustle me.

"It's not enough to have talent. You got to have character, too. Yeah, I sure got character now. I got it in a hotel room in Louisville."

It's a good thing, good thing we didn't bring the balabuska! My wife said that to me on vacation when walking into a resort lounge that had a table, I about crapped my pants!

"Do you think I need to lose some weight?"

Forest Whitaker
C.O.M.

For me, this scene had some innuendos that only a die hard player could pick up on.

Best lines ever and Forest delivered them perfectly. His lazy eye helped too.

Watched the above movies countless times and love all the quotes mentioned so far. One I love and always use with my adult son when he thinks he can take down the old man (me!) was said in the Baltimore Bullet. The student was getting ready to take on the teacher and seemed a bit cocky when Colburn says, "Just remember one thing ... I taught you everything you know, not everything I know."

I love them all but here's a different one from PHJ.
Took me a while to figure out what he was saying.
Funny because of how we've progressed.
Before the big trick shot bet with Phil (A. Eastwood's boss):
C. Walken throws his keys on the table....
"How about my new Benz? It's got a CAN'T GET LOST SYSTEM"
Lol

All the talk about The Hustler got the movie in my head.

I think my favorite line from there, maybe because of how Gleason looked when he said it is "Now I know why they call you Fast Eddie" after Eddie said "Let's make it $200 a game".

COM: The interaction between "Eddie" and Miz "Is this your first tournament?" "I did not deserve that" "Yes, yes you did" LOL I use those lines with my son all the time, especially when I see nervous parents watching their kids play and they yell and cheer after each game. I keep thinking "so, is this your first tournament?" hehe.

Poolhall Junkies: "I'm a millionaire, I lose 80 grand, I go get another 80 grand"
Isn't it, "I'm a millionaire, Joe. THAT'S the difference. I lose $80,000, I get another 80."

I really love the line from PHJ when the guy tells Christopher Walken "you couldn't make that shot again in a million years"

He replies "I don't have to make it in a million years, I just made it now."

"I don't know where you bought your shoes, but I know where you got your shoes, you
got your shoes on your feet" (or something like that....) love that whole scene.

Not from a movie, but a great line from Scotty Townsend:
I have never really been beat
I just ran out of money a few times

RIP Scotty
