Cue ID help...... maybe Palmer?

Couple things before you view the pictures. I'm 95% sure the bumper was added by an old owner as it's glued on and a shoddy glue job. Also, the lower part of the wrap (that looks discolored) is from being wrapped in electrical tape. Again, guessing it started to come loose at some point in time and the owners fix was electrical tape. Also, the black band below the wrap that has the ring/mark around it is just glue from the tape. Cue is sound, hits pretty darn good, and is dead straight together and apart. Lets hear some input. Resembles a Palmer but I really don't think it is.

I'm 100% sure the bumper is a later add-on. The shaft tenons definitely do not look like a Palmer. They actually resemble a Paradise, and that looks like the right length 18 thread pin for that. But there are a few possibilities on an old house cue conversion such as this, such as, but not limited to, Mayer and Fedunka.

All the best,
WW

Guys, I've had a few PM's on the cue and I appreciate all of everyone's comments. The bumper is glued to the buttcap and when I said it's a shoddy glue job I mean whoever did it used 3x as much glue as anyone ever should...... to glue anything! I'm afraid to cut it off and possibly damage the buttcap. I'll have it at work with me tomorrow and attempt to soften the glue with a heat gun to remove the bumper.

The only other cues of that era that I can find with a ferrule that yellow in color was a paradise. That ferrule mean anything to anyone? I'll attach a better photo.

The ferrule looks like Marblette. Very popular back in the day. They closed early 80's and was located in Long Island.

Rambow????

On the possibility of a Rambow, my guess would be no. The buttsleeve has gold acrylic rings, which I don't recall Rambow using. Also, the black portion of the buttsleeve looks like acrylic, not typical from Rambow. Also, the buttplate is a bit lighter white than the materials I recall from Rambow, whether ivory, or the synthetic ivory he sometimes used. Just a guess.

All the best,
WW
