I agree. He is still improving though and I think he will reach the very top level. I in no way want to diminish anything he's done to date. He has beaten a lot of world class players and won world class tournaments but he's not in the "top 3" discussions yet. (Dennis, Tony, Alex) I predict it will be a "top. 4" discussion soon. That's all I'm trying to say,

Looks to me like Shane is just not playing quite as well these days. Maybe a little ring rust and the fact he's tangling with guys (like T-Rex) who have been playing a lot (especially One Pocket) lately. Shane at his best is still a match for any of them, Dennis included. I wouldn't be so quick to judge Shane Van Boening. He is a once in a lifetime player who still has many big wins in front of him.

Right now his problems are more about his mental frame of mind than about anything physical. That is not to say there is anything wrong with him mentally, just that he doesn't seem to be totally embracing where he's at with pool at the moment. My prediction is he will be fine and he will book a lot more wins. Who else but Shane will travel the world to face the best in the game and still pony up the cash and play the top dogs at their game (only Dennis O. last time I looked). Like I said, he is truly one of a kind.

One more thing, take a good look at how he handles himself in defeat as well as in victory. That is the mark of a man. More than just another pool player, Shane is someone who people can and should respect. I put Shane and Dennis in a category of two! Alex would be number three but I don't see him traveling as much anymore.

I'll bet Shane over Alex all day

Well put Jay.
Thanks POV! Tony's last 2 banks for the win in second match were sweet.
Can't wait for Dennis and Tony match.

Lol if Shane doesn't have it in 1p jtompilot how about you pony up 5k and play a set I'm sure he will pUT up a set or 2 to play you some Mr keyboard banger

Shane just spent $10,000 in lessons from Tony. I've played Shane three times, it didn't cost Shane that much for the lessons:)

He lost 2 sets thay could have went either way - you obviously know nothing.
Jason

If we ever meet we can play some 1P and see.

I know the sets could have gone either way but if you knew anything about 1P you'd see Shane was lost several times. Those several situations cost Shane $10,000 against Tony. I like Shane's game a lot and would have bet on him but I now see that in one pocket he's a little bit lacking of something.

Tony has played 1P his whole life, Shane hasn't. I can see that even if you and a bunch of others here can't.
