Would you call this 9” Diamond Professional Excellent Condition?

To some, excellent condition means it can be reassembled.
To others, excellent condition means like it came from the factory.

Caveat Emptor.

I can't fathom calling that excellent condition. Did you look at it before you paid the guy?

Nah don't worry about it you're good. It will look amazing when it's up

The way I see it, the feet are in good shape, just not cosmetically.

Please keep your restoration to this thread....we’ll follow it.

I think you got a good deal since you can do all the work.

You got that thing for a STEAL. Are you seriously on here complaining?? Even if its a black label Diamond you got the table for nothing...

You paid the guy for the table and are now on here with buyers remorse stories?

"Shouldn’t he be required to pay for the refinishing work I have to do to get this table back to what I consider “Excellent” condition? " <---- ARE YOU SERIOUS??!!

Quit looking at the negatives, put the sweat equity in and you will have an awesome table!

He’s not complaining. He’s being sarcastic:)

I was gonna say!!! :)

I restored one of those old Professionals. It is a lot of work to refinish all the wood, the polishing was easy, but, I have a very nice polishing setup.

Suggest you contact Matt at 101 Billiards in Lena, IL, could be the same room he got his Diamonds from.

Trent,

Did you get the Red Label rails re-angled to play properly, or does that table still bank hella short?

If I ever end up with an old used red label Diamond Professional, I will send the rails to Gregory so he can modify them for Super Speed cushions, to play exactly like a GC. True story:)

Actually no, it was a custom restoration and the client did not want to spend the money. As per Diamond's recommendation I replaced the cushions with the Artemis. I only got to play on it for about an hour and I thought it was very fun, but, as cloth breaks in an such, I wonder. This has reminded me to follow up to see how they like it. Be back with that info soon..

I have to go back and check my emails with Diamond from when I bought my tournament used table. I got a Red Label and ended up going to Derby and competing on Blue Labels. Never really adjusted, even though I had a couple of top players on the ropes. That Red Label really threw my game off.

I might be back in the market within the next few months, as my buddy is attempting to get me in with his company, and I can live anywhere I want. That'll make it easier to find a house with the right dimensions.

I will get those cushions changed out professionally
if it turns out to be necessary, however. Crap, I paid $750 with no delivery fees for this thing, so I'm thinkin' about $750 in restoration
fees is par for the course.

Any opinions will be appreciated.

The one thing I can say is this... Get with realkingcobra on here and ask his advice on how to check if the rail angles have been corrected, as this is an early Diamond, and the early Diamonds did not have the rail angles correct, and therefore banked extremely short. EXTREMELY short.

Replacing the rubber with some other brand would not have affected this behavior, as it is about the actual angle of the wood rail behind the rubber.

I only deal with new ones. Unlike this guy, most people pay a heavy price for the red and I wouldn't, so I just dont deal in them. I won't sell anything I am not 100% all in on.

I have a great international shipper and always have Pro Am 7'&9' tables on hand/ on order with Diamond!
