I’d prefer names that can deliver a cue within say 1 year, if that’s not too fast.
Talk to Keith Josey, u wont be disappointed.
His waiting time is 1 yr the last time i checked.
Hard to beat Josey cues for price design n playability.
No list of cuemakers is complete without Bob Frey.
re: FreyI think I remember reading recently that he stopped taking orders. Just making what he wants to, then selling them.
Dan Janes ( Joss Cues) has been doing custom cues since the late 60's. Probably 6 months to 1 year. A gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. He told me 6 months for my cue and I got it in less than 5 months. As far as I am concerned, he under promises and over delivers.

Some will disagree but the build time for a cue is secondary to the choice of cue maker. If I truly want a cue built by a specific maker, I don't hold him to a specific date.
I don't expect 2 years to turn into 4, but a buyer sets himself up for disappointment if they are absolutely rigid about a due date.
Ordering a cue from one of the "top ten" or "top tier" makers is ordering something custom from an artist and it is a different process than buying a semi-custom or a fancy production cue.
