Time for Europe v Asia instead

Not only are we outgunned, but continued shellackings will make it hard for betting sites to make lines.

Now, I think everyone would get behind a Europe v Asia tourney.

Discuss.
 
No Vegas or Bethnal Green or Ally Pally in Asia. Anyway, USA will win again, it will just take time. There's no magic bullet but those five players on the team and many others that are being talked about can beat any five players from Europe, Asia or the whole world. It will happen one day. Have some faith.
 
I don't know about replacing team USA, but an expansion of the mosconi cup format would be welcome , IMO. I will say that Europe vs an Asian team would be far more competitive for sure.
 
Matchroom could easily make this a three team event. Defending champions get the bye. USA (maybe N. America), Europe, and Asia. Matchroom wouldn't have to air all of the first match, maybe just some highlights or the final match.

Ideally, this format could support a world pool league in a legitimate sense. Would have to subdivide the regions into smaller portions though. Imagine the talent pool that hails from just the Phillipines and Taiwan alone...
 
Remember Charlie tried, with Dragon Promotions, The King’s Cup 2 years ago? It was World vs Asia.
 
North America vs Europe...Continent vs Continent.

Alex Pagulayan and John Morra might help Team USA, I don't think they'd hurt.

Seeing the way this MC team is going, the matchup you're proposing could be

continent vs incontinent.
 
Make it tournament style. Europe vs Asia, and America vs Antartica. Then the two winners play for the title.

North America vs Europe would still be the same result.

All of North America sucks compared to Europe. Canada only has Alex and John. No one else of that caliber. No one coming up. Mexico has zero players of that caliber. None coming up.

Europe has 10 calibers of that player this instant, and dozens coming up. It will keep getting worse.
