Those bike "lanes" have to be the most dangerous and dumbest thing ever put out in traffic.
If I biked, I'd NEVER, as in NEVER, come close to riding in one.
The ones that run between car lanes are really the most dangerous of all. wtf??? What idiot thought these would help anyone, biker or motorist?

Imo, it is like a No Trespassing sign.
It isn't an actual barrier, but it does provide a position as to what the correct (aka:legal...i know you hate that idea) goings on are.
Cyclists who ride in traffic are placing a lot of faith in their fellow humans, signs, paint or otherwise.
Then where would you ride, if you had to travel that road in a bike?
Sidewalk.
My wife, who rides for sport, uses our numerous bike trails.
If I had to travel, I'd do as I did when I lived in Miami: I'd take the sidewalks, residential streets, etc. Whatever I'd have to do to survive.
How about you?

Sounds pretty dangerous for the pedestrians walking on the sidewalks!

If all motorists were as aware of their surroundings as cyclists, MVAs would be close to non-existent.
He's lawless.
Widening the sidewalks on a major street in my area makes a lot of sense...IMO
