I heard there was going to be a match up between these two guys involving a variety of different formats. Is this going to happen? If so, where can the general public see it?

Feb.23-25 at Sandcastle. Accu-stats is streaming it.

Sounds great. Is Sigel still capable of playing at a high level consistently? Earl never stopped playing and can still play great pool, but Sigel has been away for a long time.

Earl is still trying to catch The Captain!

He was living in the dc area a few years ago and played some of our local events.

He doesn't suck, by mortals' standards.

I'd pick him as 75-85% of his top speed and earl is prob about that too.

Agree. Mike was house pro at Champions in Frederick MD at that time. Just to put things in perspective, Mike Davis was in town, and Sigel had an unfinished run of 180 on Davis. Also, Sigel ran 100 and out on Olliver Ortman at about the same time, you can look it up on Youtube. Hardly sucking by mortals' standards, as you say. I suspect both would show up with quite a bit of practice.

All the best,
WW

Yeah 1986 Sigel ain't walking through that door, but as you say he still has game for sure.

Earl might self-destruct over Sigel's mouth....never can tell about either one of that pair actually.

Hard to bet against Earl when he still competes against the best in the world on a regular basis.

Sigel/Varner
Earl/Archer

Would be closer calls.

The hardest part of this match will be fading all the whining that Mike will do. He was one of the best players of all time but he is also one of the best whiners of all time.

Earl gots something for that!

Really, it should be a ring game with Johnny archer in the middle.

Helll, they should do a road trip together, like that show with Shatner and Bradshaw. Race to 1000 in 50 different pool rooms.

Poor Johnny would have PhDs in psych and social services by the end.
