If you were looking to buy a third table and wanted a very specific period looking table and it would play well? Which one of two table choices would you opt for?

A Peter Vitale Lord Nelson 8' table or a Brunswick Montebello 8' table?

The one on top by far, if as long as a pool table doesn't pocket rattle, then all I'm worried about is how does it look

And I love the carved Vitale, hope I can get something like that one day
 
My man cave space is decorated in a steampunk style with lots of dark wood and old timey looking stuff. So either table will fit into the current decor. I think they both new cost around the same price, and used they are both close in price.

I want to replace the Gandy that is done in black carbon fiber with a new table. It clashes with the rest of the room.

Bottom table for me. Contemporary and classy looking. The faces on the top table should be on a carnival fortune telling dispenser where the paper card pops out.

Thanks for the opinions thus far. I'm really on the fence with this one. I think playability will be my main focus over looks.
 
The Lord Nelson Vitale is awesome. I recently bought and then sold a 9-foot model that was just spectacular. Problem with Vitale just like many pool table companies, is that they skimp on one of the most important components for playability - the cushion rubbers - using the cheapest they can find. Unless they've already been replaced, I strongly suggest you'll need to replace the original cushion rubbers with Artemis. If you go with the Brunswick, they likely have the Superspeed cushions - much better quality cushions than what would come on the Vitale.
 
I have played many hours on a eight foot Peter Vitale table and I will echo the post above when it comes to the rail rubber. When the rails went dead on my buddies PV table it was bizarre, Some of the rail rubber actually turned into a sand like substance and others on the same table were like soft clay. After replacing them and resurfacing the table it only played ok. The deep pocket shelves on these tables are infuriating to play on, I will say that I am spoiled having a Diamond pro myself.

A person looking to buy should spend at least an hour on each table to see how they play.

One more thing I might mention - I think those Brunswick models that have the enclosed leather bucket pockets made for them by Hood Leather Goods, only hold about 4-5 balls each before any more balls in the pockets protrude high enough up to keep other balls from falling in the pockets, if that might be an issue. I think I'd either check it out yourself in person, how many balls they hold, or at least ask the seller how many balls they hold.
 
The bottom one for sure, very classy and elegant. The top one is far to busy in my opinion plus the wood tone is awful.

I love that dark wood. Wonder if it's real mahogany. I'd also like to know what kind of rubber they are using on both tables before I buy. It sure would be nice to play on each one first. I used to play on a 9' Lord Nelson at my buddies house. It had 4.5" pockets and it played tough. We played a lot of Banks and I never noticed any problems with the rails (this was about 15-20 years ago).
 
I would be proud to own either of those beautiful pool tables. And your games room is awesome, sir!
