What cue or customer cuemaker's cue hits like this

Not stiff but good feedback.

I have never seen a cue with good feedback that was not stiff.

Mr Starkey, I think that is a fair point. I know that "feels" is so subjective, and I guess my question is very difficult.

I guess in terms of what I am looking for, smoothness, softness, not being overly stiff and then feedback would be the combination I would be looking for. Definitely not looking for the whippy dull feel Id associate with a Meucci or a McDermott, but the Lambros and Olney are very stiff.

I would be interested in how you feel your cues are in these categories with your wooden joint. I do still plan on getting one of your cues, especially since the descriptions I have read of your cues align very well with what I think I am looking for.

It's too bad there are not places anymore that you can just go and try and bunch of custom cues. I would love to try yours as an example.

They all hit a ton. It's not the wand, it's the wizard.

Of course that is true. But if you feel comfortable with your equipment it leads to consistency, and better play. Just like a piano with better action makes it easier to learn piano.

sounds like you want a stiff cue with a soft tip

try a schon w/ an elkmaster on it

I wanted to but...

Gotya covered. I picked the gina post

Dave <-- thinks there are lots of interpretations of "smooth" but likes a hit of nice smooth Flor de Cana 12 year old rum

Try hitting a Kikel with that acme thread into wood.Or an old Rmodel schon with micarta ferrule. If that dont work buy a Calloway.

I also agree with those who are suggesting trying different tips in order to achieve the desired result.

sometimes the change in the feel can be big.

I would change the tip first. I played with a Joss with an elk master tip for years. I also added a very long taper on my shafts. The diameter of them is around 12.7mm. It plays very similar to what you are seeking. I have a new mezz on the way and will see how it compares to my old player. I also have a custom cue that I love but plays a tiny bit too stiff. I am having one of the shafts made to players specs - longer taper and adding an elk master tip to see if it plays more to my liking.

Sorry for this thread offended Black Balled, seems like a legitimate topic to me.

Played with my Dominiak yesterday. Played really well. It is so different than my Lambros and Olney...very long taper, thin butt super light at 17.6 ounces. I really like it but it is almost too far the other direction. Some people I have talked with suggest something like a Mottey or JMW Ivory jointed cue as something which would be right in between.
