New Diamond

VEEERRY NICE! I went with tourney blue, but I do really like the green on that table too. I think I'd have been happy with either. Thanks for sharing.

It looks like it's on a ground floor, how loud (perceptually) do you find the ball return to be?

Thanks!

I was concerned about the ball return. Especially because it is basically a big wood box and was concerned about it acting like a big drum.

They explained to me that their new tables are thicker wood (and it surprised me how think it is) and they put a foam type insulation all around the inside of the table.

I was surprised to hear (or not hear) how quiet is actually is. The loudest part is the short trip on the plastic runner taking it to the center box.

I also like the tournament blue color, but I have a slight preference of the traditional green. When I get it recovered I think I will try the TB

looks great

any particular reason you skipped a rug under the table?

No reason in particular.

I didn't really think a rug adds any particular value. I suppose if I did I could install those thin carpet squares around the legs and achieve the same thing.

That's a beautiful table Tim! May I ask what the light cost? I'm getting a Diamond sometime in the next year for my new house!

Here they are. Gary and Mike came by and did a really great job installing the table.

I had never seen the inside of a Diamond and I was totally impressed. That leveling system is genius.

I already have beer in the fridge for Mr. Black Ball

I did talk to the owner of Lite Systems and he did a really good job explaining. I have it mounted (currently) 8 feet off the floor and it does a really great job lighting the table. Not sure where it will end up (might lower it) but it is super easy to adjust. Really great light.

light

Great looking table. I have one of those lights in my shop and paid $100 for it and it is worth it.

Hi Scott,

You can find the light here:

http://lite-systems.com/index.php/product-tag/billiard-lighting/

I went with the wide model. It was $599 and at that price is cheaper than the Diamond Light.

The owner of the company has been super responsive. Texting me pics, answering questions, etc.

The light measures about 1.5 inches thick, and the amount of light it puts out is impressive.

Next time I get a lesson from you guess where it will be??

Talk to you later.
Tim

Nice table, and room!

Did Diamond offer the table in any other woods at this time?

Here is your table and room if you had chosen Tournament Blue (or, as close as I could get).

Love

I love that combination of Black table with green cloth and I like the smooth look without the Diamond logo carved in good move.

Holy Crap,

Just got a call from Mike from Diamond Billiards.

They are on their way to me now to install the ProAM I ordered 9 weeks ago. They will be here in 3 hours.

Anyone have any good advice to give me on what I should do (other than stay the heck out of their way)?

Tks,
Tim

Yes, invite me over.

Thanks for saying this.

I didn't think being a private table I need to advertise the Diamond logo, even if I really love the product.

Tim...Thanks for the info! As far as your next lesson...anytime you're ready! I'll be coming right through DC, on my way home from the SBE...but it will probably be a weekday, so that might not work for you, unless we do it in the evening (which is fine with me). Let me know.

Hey Scott!

If you're coming south via I-81, let me know and you can stop in Harrisonburg for a quick lesson and see my new Diamond as well :-)

That is a gorgeous table. Mine will be delivered in the next 4-6 weeks. I went with the black as well, white Diamond lettering and Tourney Blue 860 HR. Your flooring is super nice, looks very similar to what I'm putting in my pool room. Enjoy!

Thanks! Hit me up if you're ever in Norther VA and want to stop by to play.

Make sure you post pics of yours when it is done

Same here, I'm just a bit south of Dayton. Will do. The plan is to get a matching 7' Diamond when the son flies the coop. Of course, I have not mentioned that to the wife yet.
