Pool is a beautiful game played by ugly people

Hey Dave - What does the t-shirt say?

Pool is a beautiful game played by ugly people.

It was a few years back when Justin had the shirts made :embarrassed2:

Couldn't find the Justin's original post offering the shirts, but found this one.

Yeah, I imagine a lot of people have seen it, Maybe a few haven't. Either way it's still hilarious. The real reason I posted this thread was to see if anyone has any back-stories on it. Someone already said they were there. I wanted to see what Earl said to Rogan after it came out if anyone knew. And anything else anyone might know about the video itself.

This has been around the block here on AZB a few times...JCIN was still posting here regularly back then.

Love it. Great stuff.

Just to even things up a bit...here is the side of Earl that I'm used to.
...he makes for a good conversation...and he gets kudos as a commentator.

I got to know Earl over the course of Grady's All Around tourney in Tampa in 83. Spent several hours knocking balls around in the practice room and just talking. I thought he was a real nice kid. This was many years before he started doing and saying things that people took issue with. He was calm, humble, smart and man, could he play. He liked how I played as fast as he did. He's always been one of my all-time favorite players.

After all is said and done: one of the greatest players ever to hit a ball.

Yeah, decent, but a polarizing personality. Bad sport, bad loser, bad winner.

Pool never really had trully awesome players to offer, for fans or to grow the audience.

Between him and a toothless dude, who can't speak decent English after 40 years spent travelling around the world.

Did Earl actually ever say "pool is a beautiful game played by ugly people" or was that just Joe Rogan making up that quote as something you wouldn't be surprised to hear Earl say?
