For the past few months I have been buying Tom Wirth books
and watching some videos

If I had only had these when I was young,I could have learned so much faster

I really recommend these to you guys

Not so much basic stuff for the absolute beginner, but he takes up where others
never seem to get

I take it back,If you are just taking up the game,I think a glimpse into
the inner workings of the mind of a champion might be a big help

TRW here on az

I read some of my copy an hour ago. Better than the big red book.

I wouldn’t go that far, but I will say it’s a compliment to it. There’s a reason that big red book commands a hefty price and also why people like me will never part with them.

Tom's material. There is definitely something to learn regardless of a persons playing level.
Looking back I would have loved to started playing 1P from day one.
As for Controlled Aggression/Red Book. Cannot compare...both are different.

Tom's book is a legacy that few of us will ever approach. The gold standard for One Pocket instruction.

There's some bad info in the red books. They get that $$$ cause they are not in print anymore and also because people don't know any better. My 2 pennies.

'the red book'

Eddie Robin's books have stood the test of time. They are a great resoursce. Tom Wirth's book is also a great book, and I believe it will also stand the test of time. They do compliment each other......

FWIW, I have a couple of Eddie Robin's books available. Winning One Pocket, and Shots, Moves, and Strategies.

PM me for price etc. These are new or like new. They are extra copies to me.......

I agree. I put little tabs (page markers) on shots that I'm not familiar with or wouldn't have thought about shooting. In "Shots Moves a Strategies" I had maybe 7 or 8 shots marked. In Tom's book I have around 20. Sold my copy of Shots Moves and Strategies. It was a good book, but I found "A Game of Controlled Aggression" to be of more value.

Tom’s DVD “A series of unique shots and situations” is available. It’s fun and informative.

I have pulled this post down because it really doesn't belong on the main forum. You can see my post advertising my video within the "for sale" forum.
Thanks for all the support guys. Much appreciated.

Mine is on the way.

I got mine today. USAS (unique shots and situations). One Pocket has renewed my interest in pool. TRW’s material took it way beyond my expectations. I’m learning and growing. I’m playing good enough to have fun and sometimes surprise myself. Thank you Tom for encouraging us to open our eyes and mind. I’m
doing things I never thought existed. You are a rare breed. Your new project (USAS) will be appreciated by players of all levels.
