Pagulayan vs Morra - Live

John beat Klatt in the B-Side finals and is now playing Alex again. Race to 13.

Switching like that is CRAZY. He could be his own partner playing scotch-doubles!!
When did Morra switch to playing left handed? I noticed his vision center appears to be directly under his left eye, so maybe this has something to do with why he has switched to playing lefty?

I can’t even hold the cue properly left handed. I’m amazed if Morra can shoot anywhere near his right handed abilities

His vision centre caused him to twist his body to align his stroke. The accumulated strain of that caused too much pain to continue to play righty. You will see that lefty he’s got a perfect natural alignment.

Quite impressive that he could switch after playing right handed probably 20+ years since he was a young kid. Looks like he's understandably more deliberate, but his stroke looks awesome. I wonder how long he's been playing lefty in competition? I'm guessing not for long, since he played righty in Derby City. I'm also guessing the switch is likely related to why he took last year off from competition, although I never heard that was the reason.

During his hiatus last year he played exclusively lefty in local events here. He went back to righty when he came back, but I has now had to switch back.

Had to switch back to lefty? I assume that he had some physical issues related to playing right handed with his cue shaft centered under his left eye for all those years?

Correct, as I understand it. Too much pain from years of twisting into a pretzel to get proper alignment.

I read on the comments of the stream that whenever he played snooker in the past, it was always left handed. If this single internet stream comment is true, then he must have a lifetime of experience playing snooker left handed, and Pool right handed.

All super impressive no matter what.

John M has had the odd-alignment of his head crossing over the stick for as long as I've been watching him play; he appears to be L eye dominant.

He is a tremendous talent and a very nice guy.

And Alex is freaking hard to beat! :yeah:

He plays left handed with the cue under his left eye to the left side of his head. When he switches to his right hand he continues to play with the cue under his left eye as in the video on the link.

The comment was on how he aligns when he switches to his right hand.

How to Improve Reading Comprehension: 8 Expert Tips

...

Tip 1: Stop When You Get Confused and Try to Summarize What You Just Read
As you read, let yourself stop whenever you lose focus or feel confused. Just stop. Now, without re-reading, summarize aloud or in your head what you've comprehended so far (before the place where you became confused).

Skim back through the text and compare how you've summarized it with what's written on the page. Do you feel you've captured the salient points? Do you feel a little more focused on what's going on now that you've put the material into your own words?

Keep reading with your summation in mind and let yourself stop and repeat the process whenever the piece becomes confusing to you. The more you're able to re-contextualize the work in your own words, the better you'll be able to understand it and lock the information in your mind as you keep reading.

Morra must be the best player opposite handed ever. It’s one thing to make a shot here and there, but to play in tournaments opposite handed is very impressive

Thanks for the life lesson. How would you apply your superior comprehension and summarizing skills to the posts made by Canadian Billiard & Snooker Association in the attached screenshot?:thumbup:
