"Diamondizing" a Gold Crown III.. In Germany

What I am curious about is how you bang and cut you knuckles on counters and Brunswick badge. Are players moving their front hand back and forth and slipping the cue through the rear hand??? Have I been playing wrong this entire time? I agree that these metal piece sticking up can be annoying but I have never cut my hands on them.

What's amazing, is that you don't believe the factory that manufacturers the cushions, and no one who claims otherwise has the manufacturer's info showing otherwise....why is that Joey.

The manufacturer of Brunswick design their GC rails for Super Speed as well.
Why do you use Artemis then?
That is if you are going to use this " what the manufacturer says" reasoning.

The manufacturer of my tv box says their heat sink is good enough.
Guess what, it ain't and I upgraded it .

Second, today's Brunswick superspeed cushions don't fit right on any Brunswick built pryor to about 1986, so what do you do then???? What you fail to understand is that neither Mark, nor i, pay attention to the 63 1/2% +1-% as the sugested no height of cushions, while everyone else does...so figure that out Joey!

Guess what Joey, that rail still has the inherent problem of end grain shattering/splitting that the original rails have a d at some time down the road have to be repaired as well.

The purpose of my updates were to bring everyone along on the journey of my attempts to get a decent-playing table here in Germany, not to encourage arguing amongst ourselves.

I'll be able to let everyone know how the table performs in exactly a week from now...

This is what the ends of the rails look like stock, and rebuilt as stock rails down the road when the end grain of the rails shatter/split.

And yes, there are others of us that can rebuild rails to look new, only this rail don't show the final step taken to keep the rails from end grain shattering/splitting. And while we're on this subject, why does everyone feel the rails are the end all fixing up of pool tables? Even new rails shipped out to a hack, are going to be set up like a hack worked on them. And no one anywhere really see.s to care about trying to flush up the pocket casting...why not? Even new rails with the pocket castings sticking way up above the surface of the rails looks like shit!

I've pretty much quit posting on AZB, because there's way to many experts here that think rails make up for all the rest of the flaws in the Gold Crown tables. Like the frames not being flat, castings that don't sit right, cushions that don't play right, it's a waste of my time. All of you should think about this question, you to Joey. If Brunswick built such great Gold Crowns in the past, and JC builds factory spec replacement rails for sale, how did all those GCs get so beat up and abused in the past, to be in such terrible shape they're in today? Mark Gregory built brand new Anniversary rails, shipped them out to a customer in Oregon, to which the customer had a so called local expert table mechanic set his table up. After which he complained about how his table was playing, and that the rails played dead. I don't care how new of parts you buy for a pool table, you're only fooling yourselves if you think your local talent who you hire to work on you table has gotten any better over the years!! This is what i discovered when i went down to Oregon to back up Marks rail work to make the customer happy!!!

No, everyones a cushion expert, but don't know shit about the rest of the pool tables. I'm going to be retiring soon, so i wish all of you the best of luck improving the mechanics in this industry, because new rails alone won't change a damn thing!

You drop your elbow on power stroke shots? What the hell does that mean. How does your elbow have anything to do with hurting your hand. I am trying to visualize this prices of banking up your knuckles and yet trying to understand how that has any damn thing to do with your elbow.

I think the reality is that you may play some pool but you certainly don’t know much about the rest of the sport. That’s pretty evident.

Is there a tournament entry for a short bus Russ?

That really brings back a nightmare memory......I really thought I did something wrong on that set of rails.....Dennis was posting on here saying how bad the rails played and was asking why.

Well first off no one on here could answer.....they didn’t have Glen or me answer first so they could post...OH YEAH I AGREE WITH WHAT GLEN JUST SAID.....LOL

Glens right to some degree.....brand new set of rails covered and installed wrong will play like shit.
I sent the rails back with the sights not installed so they could finish the rails....and of course not covered.

Glen said the rails had low spots on each side of the sights....the guy put the sights in and sanded the rails....the wood sands faster then the sights....not my doing.
The guy put enough staples in the rails to hold up a building....I was sick looking at these pics Glen sent me when he had fixed the table correctly.

The whole time Glen was telling me relax....you did nothing wrong before Glen went to fix the table.....I like well ya never know....maybe I messed something up.

Well well....when Glen was done and said the table plays great now like I said it was going to.....and sent those pics.....I wanted to throw up.

Moral of the story....POOL TABLE MECHANICS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND.....INSTALLERS ARE A DIME A DOZEN.

BIG DIFFERENCE.......GLEN HAS PROVED THAT TO ME....OTHERS SHOULD LEARN AS WELL.
