Balabushka hustle on ebay

Looked

I looked at that and read " cue maker unknown " I think that was being honest.

The cue does appear to be old with possibly a Penn wrap. Seemed like a legimate offer to me.

I went to look at his feedback comments and when I saw "the coolest WAX buttplug, and first I have ever seen!" I decided to move on to other offers.

Not a Bushka. Lot of things say that.. Just one is the thick white ring is the wrong material.

Verl Horn? Could be...

Some inconsistencies, however:

Verl's points usually came together a bit closer at the wrap.

Verl used linen, and it's not that clear that this is. Looks like it could be a dacron. Hard to tell with pictures.

I wouldn't be conclusive just yet.

All the best,
WW

OMG, that cue has been bid up to $2,500! I have a much nicer Verl Horn cue that looks like a lot more authentic than this one. It took Tascarella to finally ascertain it wasn't a real Bushka.

Yep, I think a few are being suckered.

Not only that, but the points are too far apart at the wrap. The mother of pearl dots look too small for what George used. Can't get too good a look at the joint ring, but it doesn't look right. Too aluminum looking, though hard to tell. The wrap is all wrong.

But, I don't see that the seller is advertising this as a Bushka. Which, it isn't.

Well....Horn's works varied more than some I think. It looks very much like a Horn cue to me.

Dacron? Maybe. But I think it's just an off brand linen. Not Cortland spec.

Yeah.

I think a few people think they found something that it is not.

Always gotta be a few "experts" willing to roll the dice.

Could be worse....

I really love "unknown" cues. I dig the challenge of identifying them. Throwing a few thousand at one? That's another matter.

I have identified and bought more than a few cues on the cheap that nobody else knew....but those are few and far between and not of this level.

Dots look ok to me but the mop diamonds are wrong....as for the nickel rings they look ok just not finished like George did.

Somebody probably did an off eBay deal for 5k cash.....

C'mon guys. Seriously, you've never seen the ultra-rare "Scamboti"? The Golden Unicorn of cues. ;)
