Mike LeBron betting scandal?

What are you talking about?? My Buddy shoots like me that all of the time. Of course his name is Steve.

At least Buddy wasn't on steroids, because that could keep him out of the HOF.

if he were he'd prolly be known as the big dipper with the lil flipper

shows what idiots they were trying to make a 20 to 1 shot win who cant make a ball. they had to dump so bad it was blatantly obvious.

and much of what was bet was by the casino executives who took it very personal naturally.

and i think allen hopkins lost on purpose early to keep the heat off him.

IF this is what happened then Buddy was just the closer on the deal. EVERY player there loaded-up on Lebron. The casino should have seen this coming and pulled the match off the board. They do it with other sports all the time. Sucks to be stupid sometimes.

Totally agree. I was trying to find the other matches, and I probably have them on VHS, but I couldn't find the other ones on Youtube.

Looks like Buddy missed on purpose but then again I've seen easier shots missed for the money by pro's..I remember Pagulayan missing a straight in 9 ball from only a few feet to lose tournament...Can't remember how much it was for but a lot...Real easy shot he missed after a great run to get to it...Combo's can be easily missed.....???? Just not sure..Don't want to believe Buddy would do that but don't think we will really ever know for sure......

You have that backwards. The theory is that everyone (including Buddy) dumped in favour of Mike. And as for proof, anyone who plays a bit of pool would know that there is no way a player of the caliber of Buddy doesn't know which side of a combination to hit. IMO, of course.

All in on a dump dumped.

But, I have oft wondered if Mike didn't know the rest wer doin what they did. I am sure they'd tip him after payday and all that, but it might have been thought better to leave him out of the front end.

The dump was so scripted, even the TV color commentator was on it.
Sorry, for 50K, Buddy would have been licking his chops against Lebron.
David Howard did some missing in the semi-final match too.

Tell you how good buddy hits em...that 2b on the last rack, deep in the corner pocket? He rifleman'd it to the side pocket ,and that is a real tough one to control.

And, he gave up BIH in the preceding rack too. A man well known for his exquisite control, gonna scratch in 2 consecutive innings...?!!?

For what? A fistful of dollars that would quickly go poof.

And he narrowly missed a third one. :D

The funniest thing is, after missing the combo , he looked back and was concerned b/c he hooked ML with two balls left on the table.

Not as funny as ML missing the 2b with ball in hand on World of Leisure home table . The table looked like Jimmy Hendrix's LSD dream.

What happens in Vegas might stay in Vegas, but Vegas also has a long memory concerning things like this.

Hope the players involved enjoyed the money because there won't be another chance.

I just re-watched the final segments of the match in question. It does seem like Buddy dumped, but I'm puzzled as to why he would let it get to hill/hill. He could have won by accident at that point.

Also, Mike had to make a somewhat difficult shot on the final 9 ball considering all that was at stake- especially after he completely dogged the 2 ball.

I just watched the last 2 games as well - very sad. Buddy tried his best to not let it go hill-hill, but Mike kept missing. It is not possible for a player of Buddy's level to miss a virtually dead in 8-9 combo in the hill-hill game as badly as he missed it, and I've never seen Buddy jump up on a shot like that in my life. Numerous times just those last 2 games Buddy tried to give it away, and Mike kept missing. If Mike had jarred that last 9-ball in the pocket, it would have been interesting to see what Buddy would have been able to do without it being crazy obvious, which it was anyway.
