My dad was in the Navy, and after the war raced sailboats, inland WI.
Since I grew up on a lake I too was in the mix. A good friend of mine/boatbuilder just showed me this clip....enjoy. Especially on an HD big screen.
If you've ever been in a blow, in a sail boat, you can appreciate/feel
this moment working the rig.
I've been in MUCH worse WIND conditions (35-50 mph winds) in a small 16' with a crew, and caught a full plane with the main sail down. But these guys are working it, maybe doing 30+mph, and the end of the video, between the pontoons is cool.
