My dad was in the Navy, and after the war raced sailboats, inland WI.

Since I grew up on a lake I too was in the mix. A good friend of mine/boatbuilder just showed me this clip....enjoy. Especially on an HD big screen.

If you've ever been in a blow, in a sail boat, you can appreciate/feel
this moment working the rig.

I've been in MUCH worse WIND conditions (35-50 mph winds) in a small 16' with a crew, and caught a full plane with the main sail down. But these guys are working it, maybe doing 30+mph, and the end of the video, between the pontoons is cool.

I wasn't even a blow.....sail boats hummmmmmmm when they get near max speed, rigging is never as tight and right as race car.

Sounds like you got the ''feel'' of the moment, pretty cool.

Most of the rigging is made with the same material as these fancy new shafts. That makes it somewhat pool related. Right? Very cool either way! My brother raced in two America's Cups for Dennis back when sailing was still boring as hell. If they had these things maybe I wouldn't love fishing so much.

Wow, I enjoyed that. Never viewed much sailing but I'll be searching YouTube for more of that, thanks!

Look for Hobie Cat pitch piling. My brother would make me crew for him sometimes. One slip of the foot when in the trapeze and you were screwed. We always did this in the winter for some reason.
