Don't like big. 1.20-1.24" for me.
What do you consider "big"...anything above 1.24"?
Aren't the butts of most cues about 1.25"?
Have no opinion on what is big. It's an aspect of the cue we own, that is not discussed very often. So I tossed it out there.

And that's just half the equation.
A 1.250" straight taper butt gets fat at the bottom while being skinny in the middle .
A 1.250" compound taper or dual angle when done right has a more gradual taper from the middle to the bottom.
What people should measure is where they grip the cue most often.

I was going to say the same thing.
Some people are "butt holders" with very long bridges, but I am short and my bridge is usually no more than 10-12 inches. I grip the handle where the front of my hand is approximately 3 inches down from the top of the wrap.
I have way too many cues and some of them are "fatter" than others and it seems that most of my "fatter" cues were made quite a few years ago. I think most players today prefer "thinner" handles and butts.
None of mine are. If they're 1.25 or bigger i'm not using it. Lots of cues are smaller these days. Never did like those old-school fat cues. Its why i never had a Gilbert til i ordered one with smaller butt. Andy likes those 1.26-1.28" butts and i can't stand them.
