Felt Billiards in Englewood Colorado (suburb of Denver)is closing tomorrow and they dont know when they will reopen.
Too bad it's a real nice room/sports bar.
Good tables and great food.

Didn't Colorado just come out with new covid regulations? They may have to due to these new/updated regs. Hate to see them close for good. Heard its a really nice room.

From what I heard the place was empty since the latest uptick in the China virus.
Bummer...Felt was a nice room...another place I've done lessons and pool schools at. I think that leaves only Mile Hi for playing on a 9 footer!

Just checked their Facebook, and they’re still doing takeout/ delivery starting Friday. So they’re not giving up just yet.

We should keep count. I will arbitrarily suggest this is #5. If someone has a better count, or idea, please jump in.

The problem with Mile High is the 9 foot diamonds have stupid tight pockets.
Nick Varner refused to do his show on them and instead did it on a normal sized pocket 7 foot diamond.
I was there.

That's what happens when the owner puts in what he wants instead of what the people want

Well it was a matter of time before this has hit home for me. I don't live near the city but Felt was my room when I was in town, and measureman is a mentor. It will be interesting to see what shakes out once this virus subsides. I have many great memories playing at Felt and hope it perseveres. It has been a phoenix in the past.

Yup exactly what happened.
The casual player wants to enjoy pool and tight pockets are no fun for them.
And the casual players that spend money on pool and alcohol is where the money is for all rooms. Now having one tight pocket table for the one pocket crowd is fine but not all of them.
For those of you not familiar with this room they have a 6x12 snooker table for the golf players.
And two billiard tables.
It's really a nice room with friendly management.

Small pockets are business killers. As said already, having one is fine but your day-in/day-out recreational players want to make balls and have fun. There's a REASON why GoldCrown's came with 4.75" pockets: keep 'em coming back. I'm sure Felt is suffering from covid as is every 'hall and i'm not calling them out just stating a case.

Felt has normal pockets. Mile High has the torture pockets, like 3.75 or something ridiculous

4.5" pro cut is the perfect pocket

4.5 PC is still pretty tight but not ridiculous. My 'hall has 8 GC 4's at 4.5 and 2 at 4.25". The bangers have a hard time on the 4.5's.

Felt has 6 Diamond 9 foot tables two are slightly shimmed.
They have 5 9 foot Crowns with one very tight for one pocket.
Then there are a bunch (12?) Diamond 7 footers, I never counted them could be more.
And one snooker table.
