Best (budget-orientated) Worsted Felt

Is the CPBA Competition available without the writing on the rail pieces? Thanks, jv
I have not recovered the rails yet but I just took a look at the fabric for those and there is no writing on them. I bought the cloth in late 2019.

Thanks very much. I found a supplier of this who's selling it at a very low price, so I wrote to ask if the rails have writing. I saw in reply to an Amazon review that the maker had decided to remove the writing, in response to customer complaints. Could be the stuff I saw was clearance of the old stock. We'll see.

At these prices I'm more emboldened to attempt to recover my 9' Gold Crown I myself. At Simonis prices, not so much.

Are most folks using glue these days, instead of staples? (I assume the rails are still stapled.)

I think With some tables you don't have a choice on the bed because they don't use the wooden backing board so you have to glue them. I used the old yellow standby, 3M #10 contact cement which is a real mess to work with. Next time I am going to try the RKC250 adhesive. I don't know that there is any advantage to using glue instead of staples when you have the choice; someone else could better speak to that.

Fly the flag, man!

Haha. I think it can be cut so the rail pieces don't have the logo.

But will they cut it so it doesn't show? I dunno...so...there you go.

Hey guys

Need some help! Any recommendations for a budget-friendly worsted felt?

I tried ordering from coolpooltables.com:

As great price and sounded great "You will not find a high quality worsted cloth such as this for this low of a price. We import this cloth directly and are able to pass the savings on to our customers. You can't beat the similar playability to Simonis 860 Tournament cloth for nearly 1/3rd the cost!"

But this supplier let me down. I'm in Canada, placed the order with an extra $11.08 fee for shipping, they contacted me 4 days later and told me actual shipping to Canada is $65, what a joke!

So now looking for an alternative...

The table is $900USD, and I'm ideally looking to spend around $150USD, maybe up to $200 max. And looking for a worsted felt.

There is a seller on ebay called gameroomcreations that appears to be (?) one of the bigger suppliers of Worsted cloth on ebayA 9ft table would be $118 plus $13.56 shipping to Canada:

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/706-...2&toolid=10001&campid=&icep_item=200955419245

Anyone have any experience with their felt?

Lots of unbranded Chinese stuff on eBay and Amazon, but wanting to avoid those as could be any quality.

Any suppliers you can recommend taking a look at for decent cheap worsted felt?

Thanks guys!!
They are the same seller!!!! Both in Loganville, GA! Both have the same pictures in the ads. You're not going to get cloth from GA to Canada for $10 USD in shipping.

The eBay ad is automatic. They probably just forgot to turn off international shipping in the listing, or don't even know its possible. That's why the price to ship to you was artificially low.

Anyone have experience with Moori cloths 300/500?
Never even heard of it. UPdate: checked and it looks like just another Chinese worsted. There are numerous cloth mills in China. Most of that cloth is rarely if ever seen outside China. ANDY and CPBA are about the only ones you see here. Leqi is now getting in the export game too.

Holy Cow! I ordered the CPBA Competition cloth for a 9' table, tournament blue, with no writing on the rail pieces. I ordered it from billiardsupermarket.com CPBA Pool cloth for 9ft tables (Competition), in China, for $120, plus $6 shipping, on January 4. I just received it! They sent it FedEx International Priority. (I specified the color and no text in my order note.)

I checked and it's the right size, and I got six rail pieces. The rail pieces seem to be cut generously, I think, at 6 x 54 3/4". All rail pieces have a slevage (selvedge for you Brits) edge on one long edge. This is 3/4" wide.

The bed piece has a slevage edge on one long edge. Total width is 60 3/4" and the length is 109". (Measurements were taken without stretching out the cloth.)

I'm thrilled, and surprised, to have received it. The order status on their website went to "on hold" after I ordered it, and it is still in that state.

This will be a learning experience. I can't even tell which side is the up side, which gives you an idea of my experience level. (One side is smoother, so I guess that's the "up" side.)

I have some scraps of the Simonis 860 on my table, and in hands I can't tell the difference in thickness, weight, etc.

Yipee!

I just put the 860HR on my crappy little table in the garage. Got some new rails to boot and all of sudden it's not a crappy little table anymore. Actually I didn't do it, I had the best guy in Florida do it. Paid full retail and couldn't be happier. Even tipped a few bucks. For me it's one of those things that you get what you pay for.

Yes, the play side is smoother with no nap at all. Looks almost like real fine canvas. CPBA is good cloth.

Ayone ever heard of this (undoubtedly Chinese) cloth on Amazon:

It's CAD $129 (approx $100). Reviews look pretty good, and the manufacturer has stated in the questions that it is a worsted cloth (but not sure if it can be at 20% wool, 80% acrylon?)

I don't have the $350 (CAD) to put into a Simonis cloth right now. Maybe in the future! So currently looking for a cheaper cloth that's not complete garbage. Under $200 CAD ($160USD). The CPBA is over budget, and cannot be bought in Canada currently anyway (seller on Amazon not shipping here).

Anyone know this Bekzily cloth??

I have 3 new-in-bag precut sets of Andy x10 for 9' tables for $99 each

Just another Chinese cloth. No clue as to its quality. Look, if this is going on a home table i would think just about any decent worsted will play fine and last quite a while. Either go cheap or wait and get better stuff.

Hey ideologist - that Andy X10 cloth you have... Are you in the USA or Canada? And the price CAD or USD?

Can you PM me, interested in that and would like to know more :)

Price is USD, I'm in the US but it will ship cheaply enough. Very nice cloth, but I sold my Chinese 8-ball tables so it is here unused
