Does Anyone Recall...

...a particular cue made several years back with a lot of ivory and perhaps ebony, that had an abstract, asymmetrical, geometric pattern of cubes cascading down the butt?

Might have had the word "deconstructed" as a reference. My first thought, as to the builder, would be Thomas Wayne but I could be wrong.

Looking for a picture.

The Disintegrating Cue - Thomas Wayne?

I think there’s more than one, too. Although the second one is different and arguably less desirable.
And is a blatant ripoff to one of the most unique design concepts in our little industry, assuming you’re talking about the recent copycat. I will paraphrase Ryan Theewen: there are so many things in this world that can inspire a cuemaker in his design of a cue. Another person’s cue doesn’t need to be one of them.

Not recent. I think another one was made a year later in like 1993 or 1994 for a different collector. JVB posted pics of both cues in his Classiccues Facebook group. I don’t want to post the photos here out of respect for Joe because it’s a private group. Those pics have Wayne’s signature on both cues.

Ah, okay. Another Thomas Wayne cue. He makes some amazing cues. I shot some racks with a Thomas Wayne. Shot like a cue should!

Yes, that's it -- thanks, Freddy!

TW made some real stunners like The Celtic Prince and Dem Bones. I also seem to recall that there was a thread on RSB, something about Rosebud, that was quite memorable.

Thomas Wayne's "Rosabelle, Believe" was the first comprehensive post on what causes squirt. Is that the post you're thinking of?

Not to hijack just want to mention that some years back I saw a cue that was so impactful to me with its intricacy and I regret not saving the pictures that I saw online and I have not been able to find them since If anybody happens to know of Dave kikel's "pink dianthus" cue I think that what is the name.

If any one knows where pictures might be of this cue i would really appreciate a heads up or message me the link TIA

For those who are wondering what that was, Thomas Wayne posted it on February 5th, 1997 in the Usenet newsgroup rec.sport.billiard. Here is a copy of it on AZB: https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/rosabelle-believe-by-thomas-wayne.125935/#post-1592638
In particular, it made the connection between amount of end mass and squirt (cue ball deflection). Until then, there were a lot of theories about stiffness and such trying to explain squirt.

Lot of these cues belong in a museum.

Um, therefore, inlay the shaft as well.

Better yet do vases and banister posts and 3d sculpting already.

Didn’t Jamie (Worminator) post photos when you asked this before?

Hi Freddy I didn't recall (old age?) But just did a search and see that in 2014 or 2013 I asked about this cue and it looks like Jamie responded but I don't see the pictures there any more he may have taken them down so apparently I had my chance.

Ask Jamie again, then. Looks like he did actually post a photo back then.
