Center Pocket Music, the long-awaited CTE Pro One book, by Stan Shuffett.

You must be a whiz bang at the table. How about a video of you running a rack or three of 9 ball to show how it solved all of your aiming problems.

I could bang out 3s in my first year of focusing on pool. I shoot straight because I learned pocketing with pool balls on a 10' snooker table. Picked up many bad habits having to cinch so many shots but over the last 20 yrs have managed to iron out those issues. Contact geometry centralized everything for me.

The book, "Center Pocket Music - Using CTE Pro One TO IMPROVE your Pool Game" is written, illustrated, explained, and on video
to help those who ARE INTERESTED in improving their game at ALL LEVELS so that someone doesn't have to spend 20 years ironing out issues as you did. Does that make sense? If so, leave it up to the pool players themselves.

Otherwise, write your own book on Contact Geometry and how one can be a pro pool player by avoiding all of the trials and methods that DIDN'T WORK over 20+ years.

JB has been trying to make CTE work for about 20 years and seems to still be a work in progress. Maybe he will find something in the book that will finally make it click.

The same thing applies to you as far as just understanding. Maybe you'll find something in the book that will finally make it click.

Here's what I think in all sincerity - this book has been written with so much thought, experimentation before hand to cover all facets and just about every scenario, and explains it in great detail little by little...that YOU would in fact make it click. It's laid out in a fantastic way.

Believe me or don't believe me. I mean every bit of it and not handing you a line of shit. You DO have the mind for it IF you went into it OPEN.

I'm going to try mohrt's shot when I figure out exactly what he is saying. I find the instruction to use your dominant eye for one line and non dominant eye for the other to be questionable. I don't think the eyes work like that. In the past I've found the ETA line and then the CTE line and just kid of placed my vision between the two. Seemed very imprecise and subjective to me, especially when the ob was more than a couple of diamonds away.

Oh, and apparently I'm on the banned book list. That's the one where the book bans readers rather than readers banning the book. :o)

ProTE or ProCT take your pick is offered as a cure all? Of course those interested in ProCT will have none of the issues I experienced. After all, they are fundamental problems that ProCT simply bypasses. I first poked at a ball in the 60s. That puts the frame at 50+ yrs. The time I've actually spent on pool amounts to less than a percent of that give or take. Noticed you managed to advertise the book too. Why pretend to be my editor/handler? Contact geometry is a simple concept. If you need any more than the actual "drafting" you need to spend time with actual players and wondering about your own technique.

If you can prove to me what you've done in pool and who you are, which I'm pretty certain is a flat NOBODY, then I'll listen to you and give respect. However, all that can be gleaned is you're nothing more than a hack player that has an overblown opinion of himself and a daily aggravating TROLL.

I posted a list of all the certified pro players who use and teach CTE and all of the endorsed pro and top amateurs who play pool using CTE with they're also some of the best players in the country and world.

Post YOUR name and we'll see where it ranks. OTHERWISE...TROLL! Answering you is OVER!

Why would you find that odd? For the last 15 years you've done everything in your power to denigrate and destroy the man's character, hard work in pool, and reputation. A man who is highly respected and liked among his professional peers as an instructor, a player, and as a super decent human being. Why would he let you in HIS HOUSE to come in and take a shit on the floor?
I scoured all of those threads and posts back from RSB days and saw how Patrick Johnson and Lou Figueroa started their absurd attacks on Hal and those who got involved with CTE. What I didn't see was you joining in. You seemed to be very gentlemanly and professional not ever getting involved. Maybe I just missed it. But then you joined AZ and turned into a Rottweiler with rabies any time CTE was brought up and Stan got involved. Will that ever change?

Then why did you tell me to read the book?

When I first posted questions about CTE in AZ did you notice how open minded and polite I was? Remember, also, that I had a phone consultation with Hal. If you scour AZ you will find that I was not the one to throw the first stone. I politely did not accept non answers and was quickly labeled a hater. This piqued my interest and here we are today. Having said that I have no ill will towards Stan or any of you guys. I think Stan is genuine as are all of you, but simply misguided. In the other thread about mohrt's instructions and PJ's objection mohrt said to let your eyes go where they want, or something like that, in order to pocket the second set up with the balls a diamond more up table. He pretty much described playing by feel to a tee.

Then why did you tell me to read the book?
The book goes so far beyond what has been discussed here or RSB it's like night and day. There is no stone left unturned. Any and every claim or assault against it has been addressed through clear cut instructions in what to see, how to see it, and how to perform it. That being said, it still WON'T be clear cut to many IN THE BEGINNING because it still needs a complete retraining of the eyes and way to set up to the shot. Breaking or changing old ingrained habits is not the easiest thing to do.
When I first posted questions about CTE in AZ did you notice how open minded and polite I was?

No, not really. It was too long ago. What I did notice was how polite and professional you acted on RSB. Not here.
Remember, also, that I had a phone consultation with Hal.
I have no idea how that went with you but the first time I did it with Hal I was astounded at balls going in based on what he was telling me to see, how to set up, and telling me to pivot the tip of my cue to a certain place. It was like, how in the hell are these balls going into the pocket while doing this weird stuff? I experienced the same thing a number of years later when I linked up with Ron Vitello for 90/90. That was even more bizarre! BUT, balls went in. Ron would have pounded anybody and everybody on this forum for big money. First of all he was a deadly shooter, he HAD plenty of money, and no fear of playing for it in any and all games. BUT, one game he couldn't win was the one against the BIG "C". Cancer.

If you scour AZ you will find that I was not the one to throw the first stone.
Oh, I know that! It was a carry over from RSB with Patrick and Lou.

We aren't misguided...it's the other way around. You are. If you think WE'RE misguided then you also must think the long list of pro players and top amateurs who teach and use CTE in their play are also misguided. This includes some of the top players in the world, and in the nation both pro and amateur. Do I need to post the lists again to refresh your memory? Some of them not only play with it, they've become certified instructors. You have no clue who Stan has given lessons to in person. It's like a who's who of pro players both male and female. Do you think it was his intention to destroy his own sons game by feeding some worthless garbage that was ineffective? NOBODY has ever had the junior record that Landon has before him and more than likely EVER in pocket billiards. Landon started learning CTE when he was 12.

No, I don't think that was Mohrt's intent. The instructions in the book or with Stan in person are very specific.
I guess you are now the person you've morphed into over the last decade plus which in my opinion isn't too good AT ALL. The pre-AZB days showed a very decent human being. Probably too late to go back and too bad. TRY.

Btw...you aren't on a black list precluded from purchasing the book. Others handle the orders and shipping. There is attention given to something very near and dear to your heart...THE STROKE.

First FU. Second, I've already said I'm not a player so what of it? Can't consolidate contact geometry? 'S'bout the third time you've bailed with the troll word.

FU? KMA. If you're admitting to not being a player, why are you engaging with people who ARE and telling them what's right or wrong. TROLL! GO BACK TO SNOOKA!!
You won't be seen any more because with the IGNORE feature, you disappear. EL BLANKO... TROLL!

Now ProCT's three lines have defined what pool is. FWIW, I don't play snooker - incidentally why is it pool is pronounced poole like snueker but snooker is pronounced like hook?
Anyway I value snooker pockets and proportions only for the marksmanship workout and only with American sized pool balls at that.

... and none of those people can answer the question about CTE that we've been arguing about for so long.

Stan says X it turns out to be Y and Stan's supporters spend eternity trying to explain why Y really is X. Just look at the pretzel JB has turned himself into to justify why the balls in this video are throwing. What's your take? Stan's original video is posted in the description:

When YOU "Mr. JC" or "The Fig", or any other person around this joint can post a video of themselves breaking and running three consecutive racks of 9-Ball WITHOUT any 'fades', 'wipes', re-takes, or other camera tricks....THEN AND ONLY THEN are any of you in position to critique Stan Shuffett and his Master Discoveries for improving at the game of pool.
This is the kind of illogical rambling we have been exposed to for years in this forum. Here is a guy saying we are not qualified to comment on CTE because we cannot run 3 racks supposedly. At the same time he admits that he himself cannot do it yet somehow he is qualified to discuss CTE.

JB has been trying to make CTE work for about 20 years and seems to still be a work in progress. Maybe he will find something in the book that will finally make it click.
Screw off. Seriously. No matter what I am a better player and enjoy the game way more than you ever have or will. As for which of us ends up having more impact..... Well let's just say your name won't be in anyone's mind while tens of thousands are benefiting from cte aiming year after year.

I had held out hope that we could have a semblance of a decent conversation but now it's clear that you are a true troll and nothing more.

Should I choose to answer anything you write it will be my choice only because there is no decorum that entitles you to expect an answer. My rebuttals are for the audience not in any hope that you are acting in good faith.

So I’ve been reading the book, it’s making much more sense. I’ll be honest, I’ve not shot the shots on the table yet because I’m in a spot I don’t want to rebuild my game. I’m playing pretty regularly with a new pool playing friend and he’s at a bit higher level so I’m hesitant to tweak my game.

I’m starting to understand the aim points but have a question. When you find the 3 aim lines, if you’ve misestimated the A B or C on the OB, what happens? I’m guessing since you have 3 references, it’s less likely to misestimate. I imagine it’s like anything and takes a bit of table time to hone the skill. My half formed thoughts say it should be no harder than estimating traditional contacts, but with a solid reference of the cb edge as a starting point. Does this sound like I’m on the right track?

I apologize if that offended you. I'll remove it if you want me to.

I was responding to a Spider post where he said if you learn CTE you won't have to work on your game for 20 years. That reminded me of you saying you don't have everything working properly because of bad stroke habits and so I made that comment. Maybe a bit snarky and uncalled for, but it wasn't intended to be malicious. I got to thinking, though. How is that much different from what you just said in another thread, "I promise you that it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that you fidget like Pat Johnson does. One of these days I might release the video I have of Pat's fidgeting...... probably not because I told him I wouldn't AND it's on a hard drive in drawer somewhere and not worth looking for."? So you are making fun of PJ's stroke (something you guys have been doing collectively for years) and "threaten" to put it out there. The inference is that it is so bad you had to keep it secret. Is that something you consider "decent conversation" or are you a troll as well?

Here's the bigger issue: You are not the best ambassador of CTE because after all this time you still are not pocketing balls automatically. You can tell a guy that CTE is great but if you aren't pocketing everything like Stan does then what good is it? Hell, if I learned a system that gave me objective aiming points and that's ALL I had to know other than a straight stroke, I'd be making every shot I tried. "Objective aiming points" means it is easy to do, right? Aim at points that nearly everyone can see. Simple. But after all these years why aren't the balls going in the pocket automatically? Even Stan said that CTE will straighten out your stroke, so what gives?

I came up with something recently and have been trying it out. Tell me where I'm wrong. When you distill it down the claim is that CTE does the aiming for you. In other words, simply follow the instructions, make sure you are seeing the lines as directed, and you don't need to do anything else but shoot straight. You are aligning the cue per CTE instructions and CTE geometry is making sure the ball goes in the pocket. You don't need to have any prior experience regarding "when a shot looks right" and you don't even need to look at the pocket. Even if you never picked up a cue before, if you can follow the instructions the ball will find a pocket. This comes back to your experience. You've been doing it many years and yet it still doesn't seem automatic. That's not meant to be an insult, but an observation.
