New shaft from OB

I was an OB user for years. Loved their shafts. After my last round of customer service with them, I decided to go another direction. Horrible experience. I still use the OB butt for my cue, but when that goes, it's over between us.

It seems that Royce was the heart and soul of OB cues. Great dealings with him myself and many others reported the same. When he died OB became just another cue company and not even one of the best when it came to customer service.

Like many others, I miss Royce even though I can't claim to have known him well.

Just out of curiosity when was this last round of customer service? A few details about the interaction?

Couple years ago. Promising me items by certain dates and not delivering on the promises. Standard shady customer service.

Today was my first day hitting balls with the OB Curly Shaft 12.8 which is a torrified shaft just like its little brother, the Phoenix. I really love the feel and sound of the hit on a center ball shots and soft touchy spin shots, but it is going to take some time to get used to the flex - the shaft is definitely whippy. I'm curious if anyone else has tried this shaft and what their thoughts my be. I'm thinking the grain of Curly Maple is the cause of its whippiness. . Long table power shots are low on the confidence scale with this shaft. I wonder if the Phoenix is stiffer.

My Phoenix 3 is definitely stiff. I have to try on a couple of different tips to get the feel that is right for me.

My phoenix is also stiff and plays really nice with the sniper tip. One of the best shafts I've used, looking to selling it though because I just love my Revo too much and used to it.

If one wants to try the phoenix which has pin 3/8x10, let me know in pm, will sell cheap.
