Ideas that haven't saved pool

Define sport?? My definition is the competition of one person against another, in the effort to produce a winner! Do I care if it meets anyone else's terms of what a sport is? No, why should I care, what difference does it make, its what ever I choose it to be!
Where did that come from? He asked you to define "support", not "sport". Our future is in good hands with you at the wheel.

The real problem with pool in our country, is the players themselves! They refuse to support anything they're not a part of. If there was a line drawn in the sand that if you stood on the left side, you're a pro, and have earned the right to be in the class of pros, but if you're a player on the other side if that line, you refuse to accept the fact that your skills are not good enough to make the cut to the pros, and because of that, you refuse to support the growth of professional level pool.
Everyone knows tournaments are ALL funded by dead money entry fees, paid in by players that have no chance if winning, but those players don't care, they're not playing to win, they're playing to get a chance to see how their skills stack up against the real pros, cheap thrills!

If tournaments were played with races to 21 3hr match time limits, single elimination, with a 10 game lead called a no contest, and the winner declared early....most, if not ALL of you wouldn't even bother to play!
But, then, even if you didn't qualify to play, that wouldn't stop many of the players from hanging around, trolling the pros to give some weight so you can match up and gamble in the hopes of making some money! And for most of them players, they need backers because God forbid you bet your own money!!!

Then, if you can't play, damned if you pay to watch!!!

American pool players have an entitlement problem, they think pool revolves around them, only problem is, take gambling out of the picture, and the American pool pool players can't compete in the real world, against the real Pros of this sport! Want some proof? Other than SVB winning the US Open 5 times since his first time winning it, what other major event in pool has been won bu an American player????
I won a GSBT event once.

Yet you have nothing to offer, and no advice whatsoever to bring in sponsors, all you do is run your mouth at those that ARE doing something to fix it!

I don't care if it gets fixed. Pool can die and we can all find something more productive to do.

I just really like you.
I'm going to give you a little insite as to what I'm up to, then tell me I'm not doing something about this sport!!

Hi Glen,

Just checking in to see what next steps would be. I would be willing to join the board also.

We don't chase advertising. Good that you have found someone to handle that process.

BMG can support the streaming process, which will include:

Receiving production transmissions from siteAdd insertionPayment processingStreaming worldwideVOD servicesAuthentication after subscription for live and VOD viewing

BMG will work with a CDN to support some of these services. An initial investment will need to be made to build-out websites that can handle payment processing and streaming signal management. Only one of the two vendors who responded provided a turn-key solution. The other vendor only provided a partial solution (streaming & content management) and suggested another party handle web development and payment processing. Both are very good solutions, but I like the idea of working with one vendor.

The all-inclusive proposal provides for:

Custom Website Design

Custom Website - Hosting (meaning they maintain it) + Website Domain

Streaming infrastructure (meaning can support the number concurrent viewers specified)

Providing additional streaming partner options such as AppleTV and Amazon Fire TV

Broadcast Monitoring Team during live events to ensure proper distribution

10% processing fee per transaction

So, if the monthly fee is $25, they would get $2.50.

This does not include the service of producing the event onsite

Did I say you're not doing something? I'm glad you're doing something. My opinions on what you're doing are:

1. I don't think it'll work the way you're hoping.
2. I don't care if it does work.

I'll never doubt that you're trying.

He's heading up "Worldwide Sports and Games Live"

So I'm playing all my cards to insure the success of this program. And yes, as Dave mentioned, I have the sponsors!!!

One of the keys to the success of this platform is going to be setting up certain pool rooms around the world as broadcast studios so they can live stream their sponsored live events to the Worldwide sports and games live streaming platform, providing content in cloud storage for the subscription fee of $5.99 a month, then any matches recorded and stored can be viewed 24/7 by the subscription holders on their time frame of viewing. It also spreads the sponsorship money around, as well as the Pro players, giving them multiple choices for events to compete in, simultaneously, as in more than one event taking place at the same time.

Maybe shoes? I know it sounds dumb, but the announcers could sell it. You stand on your feet on concrete all day, Brand X shoes or boots keep your feet feeling good. You preform better without sore feet, so buy Brand X today.

Wolfe Eye Clinic? You have to see in pool and it's something pool players care about.

Multivitamins/supplements, peak condition for playing and thinking?

It's a pretty hard sell for things not directly relating to pool equipment.
Maybe sex toys, prophylactics, tattoo and piercing services or bail bondsmen. Things pool players relate to.
