So ESPN can't find time for pool?

I still don't understand why anyone CARES about ESPN. Do you also have grand hopes that the rotary telephone will make a huge comeback? ESPN is well past it's glory days. There are many better outlets for sports today. When even their bread and butter has better outlets, the writing is on the wall. They aren't relevant anymore and hoping they could somehow grow pool is silly at best. They are irrelevant to the world at large, how can an irrelevant broadcaster save pool? It's silly to even consider the scenario at this point.

You might have hit home run with observation.

So ESPN can't find time to show any top notch pool matches? This is the content they do have time for.

American Cornhole League

ESPN THE OCHO
9:00 PMACL Celebrity Throwdown
espn2

ESPN The Ocho

Weightlifting

INTERNATIONAL WEIGHTLIFTING FEDERATION
1:00 PMStrongman: Clash on the Coast Record Breakers
That's all short attention span stuff requiring little skill. It's more of a statement about the current generation than anything else. ESPN televises what they think people will watch.

When my son was in college I gave him a video CD of Crane's 150 and out vs Balsis. He said sarcastically "if I every want to watch a guy run 150 balls I'll watch it". I'm sure he never watched it. A lot of the junk on your list he would probably watch.

Hey, it was YOUR example of the supposed burgeoning growth of pool internationally. What was going on in Germany in the 70s is meaningless, but this is your style - everytime you get called out on your view of things you deflect to something that is irrelevant as a distraction.
There’s less pool now in Germany than 15 years ago. There are some areas it’s strong like in any county but unlikely it will surpass football anytime soon in Germany 😂🤣

I had a real good post for this thread, but I just do not have time right now, the cornhole semifinals are just starting and I have to go sweat that……sorry guys

See you later,
Fatboy😎<——-wearing my sweating glasses for today’s big match

Women empowerment get on the gravy train. After an incident in NY sponsorship of female sport communities will explode.

The mens club of old ESPN days is over. Time to start letting women take the lead.

Its a facebook video of a female BJJ against a male bodybuilder. Imagine that happening in pool halls.

Women cleaning men out of their pool money.

Pool don't have e to surpass another sport in order to be considered successful! The NFL will never surpass Soccer, does that mean the NFL isn't successful?

I wasn’t talking about the NFL. I was referring to football in Germany. You lived there Glen-remember?

Yes, Soccer. But still, why does Pool need to surpass ANY other sport in order to be consider to be successful? Wouldn't it be considered a successful sport if the Pro's could make a good living playing Professionally? Does pool need to be a billion dollar sport in order to be recognized as being successful? Most people that complain about pool not being on TV or ESPN can't even explain what successful IS related to this sport!!!

So you think it would be a GREAT thing for this sport, if women players could be shown beating men out of their money gambling, is that right?

It’s just a data point for comparison

that’s all, not a contest to see who has the biggest…….

Earl Strickland acted like a jerk and how many players attempted to beat him in tournament.

Its time for female villain in pool.

Earl is cool. You need to be cool.

Jenn Barretta would be the perfect villiain for New York.

She is a top female player and has been in movies and tv series on cable networks.

You should talk to her about that idea

Here is the pitch

NY has been through so much. Jenn Barretta a business owner and elite pool player is rebuilding her business, her reputation and her girlfriends.

Think buddy cop show but pool tournaments. A min 2 trailer showing Jenn planning out the future, background showing pile of families members and friends recently deceased. Her top motivation not making the most money, but reach out to the most women and empower them to outwit men.

Think the A team but for female advice through billiards culture.

Then the Chinese female players come along and rob her of every penny she's willing to bet!!!

You were the one that tried to imply 200 Diamonds in Moscow was really nothing, pointing out, wow, 200 tables in a 12.5M population, completely oblivious to the fact that Diamond isn't the only table manufacturer out there. What you FAIL to realize is that those Diamond table sales was to ONE person! The point is, just like with American viewers, we DON'T represent the thoughts, feeling, or table support for the rest of the world. My guess is Americans are the worst viewing audience of the entire world when it comes to supporting pool, which is WHY pool has NO support in our country!!!

No, YOU are the one who used 200 tables in Moscow as some kind of evidence of burgeoning pool growth internationally.
