Just curious as to what else the wing-nut conspiracy kooks are going to blame MR for? So far its been SVB's foul at the Open, then its their fault Earl got shitcanned from the MC and its also their fault that JJ screwed the pooch on the shot clock. Look, i'm no MR homer nor do i work for them but i just don't get all the piling on what is really the ONLY outfit that has any chance of bringing pro pool forward. Are they perfect? Hell no but they aren't to blame for other's dogging it. Just my $.02, nothing more.

Leyman being employed, the horrible cloth, the absurd striped 9 ball, overserving drunk british folk, Earl being picked in the first place, not providing a free stream here in 'Merica and making us pull up pirated Sky streams out of France, Russia, and points unknown, the horrible commentary of that one windbag, and not enough air time of Emily's leather pants.

The stream. I forgot all about that. People think it should be free. Why? I do agree 1000% on those lame balls. Horrid.

Especially the pants...;)

I think a major reason is that they charge broadcasters for the content. The broadcasters are very unhappy when they see there is a free channel. I think that's the same reason they don't retain events for long or have very long clips of matches on YouTube.
Bingo.

If you want the sport of pool to advance, everyone needs to do their part and chip in… I can watch the highlights for free on YouTube the day after, but in the grand scheme of things what is 20 bucks to watch the greatest pool players duel it out ? You have no right to complain about it if your not supporting the game. Pay the 20 bucks and be proud that you did you part supporting the leading company putting on great tournaments!

I think Matchroom should be lauded for the good they have done for professional pool, most notably putting more good events on the calendar. At the same time they can be justifiably criticized for the missteps they have made in staging some of these events. The fiasco of the player "contracts" at the U.S. Open and the poorly thought out way they did the draw for the final thirty two players at the same event deserves some level of criticism. Losers playing other loser side players and winners playing other winner side players smacks of unfairness.

It's more than enough that they have the best game in town already so there is no need to be heavy handed about enforcing their own set of "rules."

The rest I can live with.

Really don't understand the hate for Yates.

he's harping on about misses forever, with a negative, bitter attitude. he's the same in snooker. maybe even worse in snooker coming to think about it.

mcmullan is informed, provides good background info and has a better attitude. i'm guessing travel expenses and covid regulations kept them from flying in nick schulman.

feijen was great, fischer was good too. i don't agree any of them was partisan, it's just that when one team is having most of the table time they naturally get talked about more.

plenty has been said about what matchroom is doing right, and wrong- fair play-
matchroom can be both a commendable outfit, and worthy of improvement.

I think matchroom does an amazing job. For the first time in many years we have high quality programs. The equipment is amazing. Pros don’t have to worry about getting paid. it’s a win for the pool world. the people that complain are the people that have after 30 years pushed me a way from this game and more towards golf. That’s all they do. Hate any new ideas or anyone that seems to promote the game and oh my god…make a profit of it. Pool is the only game where they think pool players should make 100% of the profits and promoters should do it for fun. It’s not match rooms fault earl didn’t get his Covid shot. It’s not matchrooms fault Jeremy jones a damn captain doesn’t know the rules. Matchroom should stick to poker because we don’t deserve tier efforts.

Allowing Americans to put up a weak team and building it up like they can actually win.
